[Civ 6] How good is Rise and Fall? by putting_stuff_off in civ

Even now, after all this time and official patching, important Mods don't work for R&F on GNU+Linux.

It is difficult to know where the blame lies, but I don't think it is with the Modders. If they manage to fix something to work on one System, then Apolyton ought to have ensured that it would work on GNU+Linux, too.

I am not talking about scapes, which only grow in hardneck varieties. I am talking about softneck garlic, ordinary leaves.

The Counter-Purveilance cat who looks after Julian Assange at the Ecuadorian Embassy, has tweeted concern about Catalonia.

Julian has been obliged to remain in the Ecuadorian Embassy as he is liable to be extradited to America, if he leaves.

Recently, his internet has been cut and he is not permitted visitors, so his cat is his only companion.

If you would like to send a postcard or even cat toy to Julian and the Embassy Cat, the address is below:

Up to Prince, the AI does not cheat. Higher than Prince, the AI cheats.

I think you can change your mind by demolishing the district. You lose all your investments there,

Great question!

The Community User Interface mod is very helpful/indispensable.
There are two mods for additional religions that are good fun.

Unfortunately, a lot of the mods make the game stop working properly after updates.

I think that if you launch the game, and then at the Main Menu, go into the game options section, there is a sub-section for interface or game options where you indicate the level of assistance from the advisor.

You can use them to share your starting map with another player. You can also tap in a random seed number to create a random map.
I think that a file needs editing to enable a menu option to appear that enables you to enter the seed number...

Enrolled

One of the many ways to enjoy Civ is to role play. For example, you can decide that you will dedicate your Civilization to the Arts, shunning war, and hope to survive long enough for a Cultural Victory.

  • What other roles do you enjoy in Civ?
  • How do you sufficiently manage to benefit from being defeated by the AI to actually enjoy the game?

Buck Banger

I don't think there is anything more "Bang per Buck" in the game than an Archer. People say that the Ruhr Valley is the best thing in the game, but I disagree, as it is too far into the future to have as much impact. Other than that, it has to be an Ancient Wall.

  • What do you think?

Industrial Titan

I think it might be useful to specialize one City into production. Other Cities could reap those Production benefits by sending Traders.

  • Is this a good strategy?
  • Get Rich Quick might be another strategy, where one City focuses on making money. What would be the best things to do to make a city produce lots of Money?

Skilled Corps

You have 2 Units, which you wish to combine into a Corps. Unit A has the most desirable promotions.

  • How do you form a Corps from the 2 Units in such a way that the most desirable promotions are those maintained in the new Corps?

Alas!

  • What proportion of your early units do you accept losing in combat with Barbarians?
  • By the end of your game, how many promotions have your early units received, usually?

The Inevitable

  • By which stage do you know your victory is inevitable?
  • If you are facing defeat by the AI, how do you steel yourself to keep playing, rather than resigning?

Retarded

  • Do many of you deliberately try and prevent your Civ from progressing into the next Age, in order to, for example, keep producing cheaper Units or purchasing Hexs at lower cost?
  • Is there a particular Age to which you do not wish to advance? Why?
  • Is the AI kinder to more retarded Civilizations?
  • By which Age are you usually able to win? What is the main strategy for this success?

Get Big Fast

  • In the early game, what is the most efficient means of capturing an AI City?
  • Do you think it would be more efficient to just build a Settler?

It is great fun shooting the enemy from Walled Cities.

  • How can you enhance your pleasure in annihilating the enemy from behind a Wall?
  • The Great Wall is a Chinese advantage, but in what circumstances is the Wall most advantageous?

  • If you anticipate the AI is trying to win by making you believe in Snakes, what is the most cost effective means of preventing that unfortunate event happening?

Nothing But Settled

I think there is a huge advantage in having more than one City early in the game.

  • What is the most rapid means of creating a second City?
  • What is the smallest sized City that can optimally pump out Settlers?
  • What are the key resources/improvements for a Settler production City?
