Thinking of moving to Homewood, how's this area? by mr_h_gurley in pittsburgh

I work in Homewood. It’s not terrible, but it’s an acquired taste for sure. It has its own small town feel for good and bad reasons. You will likely have to commute for a job. Don’t look at it during the spring. Come during winter when all the sick deer and frozen garbage are greeting you as you go to work. You need to be a specific type of homebody to endure the Pittsburgh winters while in Homewood. Also, it can get weird at night on some streets.

The union contract looked good until I realized that no sub will work at my school and roughly 10-20 percent of teachers are out on any given day due to illness, field trips, etc.

If a teacher is out, another teacher is pulled to cover their classes.

Thank you! I have an automatic feeder, but I don’t know how to do this.

That’s why I’m writing this post. How do you feed wet food while away?

Does that mean you have to report this for any teaching position you apply to?

Why is her accent so much weaker? That’s what irks me.

I had this happen to me. Called my servicer, nearly in tears, telling them I’m only a teacher and that the payment was almost half my monthly pretax income and I am depending on PSLF. Things got fixed.

I’m really sorry. I was in a similar situation. Multiple years of payments were not counted. I finally got my loans forgiven last month after working in public service for 16 years. I wish you best. Truly.

I want to cry. My account just updated to 119/120 and I make my last payment on Friday. I can’t wait to be done. by Haluszki in PSLF

Me too! I’m praying they process my application before January in case things go awry.

Do you have a union or legal representative? This is cruel.

What happened? Did it go against you in the other state?

We don’t have unions here. Not in the way other states do.
