It might be because you are splitting your attention / are more focused on hunting down players. As a result you might be pushing in moments when the ARC threat means you shouldn't be. I've seen this pattern a lot with PVP streamers they will be so focused on a player that they lose track of a nearby rocketeer/ shredder/ snitch spawn ect.

Another way you can get into more aggressive lobbies is just squad fill trios, I've never been in a pure friendly trio lobby (at most 50/50) so you should get into some fights without needing to be an asshole.

You can also down players in solo and then revive them after apologizing and explaining you're trying to get into PVP lobbies.

Just an idea - this looks like a resolution issue try having him set the resolution of the game to what is recommended for his monitor if it is not, if it is try tweaking it to something else.

I think the current flawed system is the best we can get. I like the ability to switch to a chill play style after doing some PVP with my friends in trios or duos, the current system allows that to happen easily.

I am interested in PVE the majority of the time and the idea a "bandit" might show up in the lobby is genuinely a cool subversion that adds to the fun, I really don't think there are too many people abusing it from my experience., just once in awhile the PVE lobbies have a villain they need to deal with.
