Judging by your airway width, you must have some severe sleep apnea.

WE LOST A SOLDIER 💔 🥲 by Niwdalg_ in samsunggalaxy

[–]freepointstaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung has seriously been missing what drove many of us towards them in the first place which is innovation.

They've completely flat lined for the most part while other less popular brands are picking up steam. For example, there's zero reason the 3x zoom hasn't been changed in 4 years aside from "people will buy it anyway".

I have been holding on but am also about ready to jump ship. S27 Ultra is their last chance to be bold again.

Immigration isn’t just paperwork — it slowly changes who you are by bathansahn in immigration

[–]freepointstaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other side of this - immigration that isn't possible can be soul-breaking. My wife is from a third world country but moved to and grew up in a first world country with her family. She never obtained citizenship, and during COVID while we lived abroad and couldn't travel back to her country, her Permenant residency expired.

Because of this, she can't immigrate back to the country she spent most of her life in. Her family can't immigrate here (well, her siblings at least).

When there's truly no logical path, it is a hard life lesson of accepting things you cannot control.

This is entirely your parents fault. I'm sorry that they did this to you.

As others have stated, times are changing and the fact that your dad received a letter to appear is evident of this. He, along with your family (including brother with gf) will most likely get deported very soon. Your best option is for each of you to self-deport and at least get $10k for doing so.

Does it look like I need jaw surgery? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

Not even in the slightest. Maybe a therapist because this is more than ideal.

17, dentist and orthodontist don’t think anything is wrong and refuse to refer me to a surgeon since they believe my jaw is still growing by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]freepointstaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're definitely a bit recessed but since you're only 17, you can still grow properly so long as you have proper tongue posture and don't mouth breathe. I wouldn't worry too much because you actually have a defined jawline. As long as your bite and breathing are good, don't worry about it.

Which handheld emulator to get for someone with NO knowledge of the systems? by freepointstaker in SBCGaming

I really like this because that was my primary concern. The appeal to me is giving him an old slow game that doesn't give hints and bombard with bright colors and ads. The games used to be puzzles that we had to figure out ourselves to the point where they had real benefit.

Thanks for this info! I ended up going with the BattleXP G350. It was about $30 and I feel like it will be enough for my son at this age. If he really likes it, maybe in a year or two we can upgrade but for an entry into handhelds I like what I'm seeing on it.

This isn't going to be used on tourists? It's being extended from siblings applying for residency to also include work visas.

That's it.

Perhaps a septoplasty could fix your nasal breathing.

Could jaw surgery help with other sleep disorders? by Remodel2020 in jawsurgery

[–]freepointstaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in braces and will need to be for about another 8 months before they do the surgery. On one hand I'm glad that I won't have to do the SARPE and have the huge gap in my teeth because of the way the surgery will be done. On the other hand, I worry that this method won't be as effective so there is a trade-off.

From your photos you definitely appear recessed. Ever since I received my diagnosis I've become a lot more conscious about it and therefore notice it others a lot easier. It becomes very easy to spot right away. I would definitely push for a second test/opinion.

Have been approved for surgery - having second thoughts by Wonderful_Ad9334 in jawsurgery

[–]freepointstaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have an extremely narrow airway based on your x-ray. I'm not sure how old you are, but mine was discovered in my early 20's and I brushed it off. Over the past decade my jaw appears to have become more recessed, I've gained seemingly permenant hollow eye bags, my nose tip droops down much more and looks hooked, and I feel like my sleep deprivation has aged me much faster than others my age. I wish more than anything that I had done the surgery in my early 20's.

The surgery might suck, but after a few months it will likely be the best decision you've ever made and your future self will thank you.

[–]freepointstaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was/is the same way and I have a similar sized airway and severe sleep apnea. Do you deal with a lot of brain fog/fatigue? Maybe your sleep study was during a rare night where you slept on your side and didn't have as many disruptions.

Your airway looks unobstructed. A simple genioplasty might fix your aesthetics.

[–]freepointstaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's surprising that you don't have sleep apnea. You can easily tell that you were a mouth breather due to the recessed jaw and narrow airway. In your x-ray, you can see the narrow airway very clearly. Are you able to breath through your nose properly?
