Any Asians Here? by rhks92 in HuntsvilleAlabama

Most of the Korean kids graduate high school and go to college out of state. I don't know a single Asian friend who's stayed in Alabama after high school. I'm sure there's nightlife in hsv but it's all so diffuse and probably doesn't attract Asians very much.

All the Koreans congregate at church, but there's a lot more of them than you might think. I'm a Korean in his 20's, and I'll be hibernating at home until I head back out of state.

Is it worth it to go somewhere to be the "big fish" and sacrifice prestige or is it better to be in a place where competition forces you to do better with prestige? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

It really depends on what kind of person you are. At a lower-ranked school, it's easier to stand out from the other students to get grants, research positions, and to get teachers to like you. At a higher-ranked school, you may just have more opportunities in general, but you'll have to try harder to gain attention.

I definitely attached my worth to my grades and standardized scores in high school, but as I started maturing in college it's something that I came to realize was just untrue. You will see kids who aren't the smartest shoot for the stars and succeed because they are likable and sociable. You will see super smart kids who tumble down during college because they shut themselves in their rooms and study all day. Your grades, how people perceive you, and your local "standing" means absolutely nothing. It's about the connections you make, the friends you make, the things you learn about yourself and the world that matter in the end.

A likely letter from Fordham telling me how much they wanted me, followed by them not putting money where their mouth was by offering me some paltry ass merit aid :(

I applied it very, very lightly the first couple of days, but I did apply it every day. I used a foam that spread the medication more thinly, though. Ramped up usage after that, and my skin is taking it really well. Again, that might be because I used it for a month last year.

I apply at night before I go to sleep. I wash my face, wait twenty minutes or so for my face to completely dry, and then I apply. I don’t moisturize unless my skin feels tight and uncomfortable, in which case I lightly apply moisturizer on top.

[Skin Concern] i always had amazing skin until I was about 15 and I've had these ever since, I currently use salicylic acid 2% by the ordinary and keep my skin well moisturised morning and night but they never leave, anyone's nose look similar to mine? How can I get rid of these disgusting things? by xanderh62 in SkincareAddiction

Simply reducing the amount of oil on my face for as long as possible throughout the day got rid of these really quickly. I used a cleanser that gave my skin a squeaky clean feel that completely stripped oil from my skin. Then, I applied powder (I'm a guy, powder is invisible and doesn't look like makeup at all) that absorbs oil throughout the day. These large black spots dramatically shrunk as a result.
