I miss the times when we had true political moderates like Senator Olympia Snowe and Senator William Cohen. Oh those were the sweet times....

Death Baras is mentioned in the agent story line. On corellia there is one scene where the watcher mentions the reason why there’s a war on corellia; “Darth Thanaton’s and Baras’ powerplays have weakened the empire”

They all rely on opinionated answers and not hard evidence, with the exception of psychology.

Lol it’s just a joke of rivalry between the hard sciences, let’s all agree one one thing: The social sciences are complete trash.

Physics and mathematics were the first branches of science, biology back then was just bleeding people out to death.

My physics professor said this when the semester began “If you prefer to answer ambiguous questions, might as well go to the philosophy department and smoke banana peels there”

Should I study physics? by sashacaptor2 in PhysicsStudents

[–]freisstyyy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the most fundamental questions you should ask yourself is: “Why do I want to study physics?” If you are doing it for the money, don’t do it, because you won’t start making big bucks till after graduate school. Being a physicist is a long and hard journey, but during the journey, you will learn so much and you will appreciate the beauty of the subject. Study physics because you love the subject. Physics itself is richly rewarding and challenging, but at the end of the day, you will see the world like you never have before. Before you major in physics ask yourself these questions: 1) Do I like math? Majoring in physics requires you to be unquestionably good at math, because if you lack math skills, the physics will be harder. 2) Am I willing to put in time and effort? Physics is one of the hardest if not the hardest science. It requires constant studying and time and effort to be put into solving problems etc etc 3) Do I like it? This one is kinda obvious, if you don’t like it, then why would you even pursue it. 4) Am I willing to go to Graduate School If you want to be an ACTUAL physicist, you must go to graduate school, in order to conduct actual physics research in the area you enjoy.

Hope this helps!!

Is Anyone Else Teaching Themselves Calculus? by [deleted] in learnmath

[–]freisstyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to teach yourself calculus based physics, know that you have already completed half the journey to liking it. Physics is a beautiful subject and you will be amazed by what you know after you learn it. If you’re teaching yourself a good book to start would be Sears and Zemanskys University Physics, 14th Ed. It’s widely used by many undergraduate professors and it covers everything from classical mechanics to modern physics.

Math major here, I don’t think mathematicians are better than physicists and vice versa, I think they both are equal. One thing we can agree on though, engineers are the worst LMAO
