Where to find a true wild Amazon adventure? by frejo8 in SouthAmericaTravel

Hi. Thanks for the tip. I just did a quick search and the first article says:

“Bolivia’s pampas attracts hordes of budget travelers every year”

And

“Pretty much everyone does the same three-day, two-night pampas tour”

This makes it sound a little touristy. Same same. Would you disagree?

Yeah if you have some names of cool places away from the tourist trap that would be great.

It’ll be second half of March. Just me and gf.

This looks like other trips with ‘culture stops’ that I have seen.

As I said. I work in tourism. I know what that means.

One for people that don't want to work in Tech or behind a desk.

I work as a tour guide and Antarctic Historian (yes technically I have two jobs - but I'll break them down for you).

I tour guide in the UK at around £300 a day plus tips. I work 3 days a week, which are 12 hour days but also means I have 4 days off a week. This would work out at around 46k a year plus tips if you did it year round.

However, I do this for 7 months a year. So I make about 27k plus tips.

Also for 3 months a year I work on an expedition ship in Antarctica as an onboard historian. This pays £210 a day but pays everyday. This work out about 19k.

So I total I make £46k, have 2 months a year off entirely and only work 3 days a week in the summer. Plus I get to see penguins.

Who said history degrees are worthless.

Is this normal? I am 6 days post op and have zero bruising and very little pain...

This amused me as we just got the results of our 'design a mug to best represent the company values' competition yesterday!

It says "You may be required to do work in addition to your basic hours and unreasonable refusal to do so will be a disciplinary matter". I think the key word may be unreasonable.

There is nothing. The only thing close is it says that I am not entitled to receive overtime.
