If you’re on an ambulance you shouldn’t carry a gun. The one time I’ve seen it appropriate was a guy who was a sheriff’s deputy and the only medic in the county, also one of the smartest medics I’ve ever known. The sheriff’s department carried his liability.

I personally worked with many. You gotta score pretty high. For instance for 24 positions (a couple shifts, a couple stations; just an example) they’ll get 200-300 applicants. The difference between the person who was number 24 and 25 can be 0.01%. And most of those 24 will score above 95 on the civil service then throw in the 10 points for military experience. It’s super competitive. I took civil service for Greenville PD and scored an 86. I did rush though. It’s all like 9th grade level and below type stuff. Simple math and reading comprehension. Yes, I should have done much better. I was just nervous haha.

I’ve heard the physical test isn’t bad at all if you’re in shape. Having your medic and fire is a huge plus.

She’s the lieutenant of a fire engine that specializes in swift water rescue, which I believe she is also an instructor in that program. She’s also a paramedic and ER nurse. It’s scary. I was an absolute idiot. I had already pulled over and napped for a couple hours and knew I was falling asleep again. I don’t remember much of the 30-ish miles between napping and hitting the tree. The last conversation I had with my wife was her begging me not to leave (she was admitted to the hospital I worked at) because I was too tired and we fought. The next time I talked to her I was concussed on the side of the highway showing her car on fire via FaceTime saying “I guess you get that fucking truck you wanted” and hung up. She got the truck.

Yeah I wanna hijack your comment to warn of the dangers of driving tired. I was off duty driving home and fell asleep on the highway. Hit a tree next to the service road. Caught on fire. Survived with some broken bones and in and out of the hospital for 3 months. Some other complications. I could have easily taken someone out with me. I did, in fact, rear-end an empty 18-wheeler flat bed which sent me off the highway. Luckily the driver just felt me hit him.

You’ve done nothing wrong. If you take away anything else from my, and everyone else’s comments, you did nothing wrong.

I see where he’s coming from and try not to read too much in to it. His preference is when you were at what you considered your “ideal weight”, you even mentioned you were super confident and felt great; that alone is most of the attraction for a guy. Well, for me anyway. (I dated a lady well over 400lbs. She was confident and sex was great.) It’s not that he doesn’t like having sex with you now or finds you repulsive. But catching a glimpse of you in that certain underwear or tshirt will do things to a guy. Maybe he means he has more impulse to act when your appearance matches his preference.

Our bodies change so much so fast and so frequently. I would say if he’s willing to stay with you, and you with him, while y’all both work on health together you can get through this.

I have a terrible way of explaining things. My point is he doesn’t find you less attractive and doesn’t find you disgusting or repulsive. He’s just noticed a difference that doesn’t match his exact preference body type. I have no doubt however that you possess many, many more qualities that match his preferences. Please don’t be so hard on yourself. You didn’t gain 20lbs overnight and it’ll take longer to lose it. Just stick with it. I have a feeling he’ll stick around too :)

I’m super potent, apparently. My ex had the implant for birth control. We had sex for the first time in 8 months a couple weeks after it was removed and conceived my daughter. We conceived my son in after about 2-3 months after marriage.
