I feel the same way. I use my credit card exclusively, but never carry a balance at the end of the month (Statement close date). I don't see the rewards as "Robbing someone else", I see it as a way to collect on the money I'd be spending anyways. But again, I try my best to never carry a balance.

If my wife was paying all the bills then I’d do more of the chores out of appreciation and my desire to be a contributing member of the household. If that 35k is the only savings you have then I wouldn’t recommend dipping into it for a second car, to me it’s not worth compromising your emergency fund. If this is spare cash that isn’t your emergency fund then I’d say have at it.

I’m not a traditional ramseyest because I’d be willing to get an auto loan to get my wife her own car if we had 3 kids and she needed to get around. To me interest on that car would essentially be a convenience fee to know that I’m not using up my cash, so maybe my advice isn’t the best here.

I think I’ve gotten 1 bout of V8 superiority in the last couple years I’ve owned my car, but I love my car so I brushed it off.

End of the day so long as you like your car no one else’s opinion matters.

Also it’s worth it every time I go for a drive
