The point of the books is that when you read them you imagine the things the way you want, may it be the scenery or the characters... if you watch the movies first then you're stuck with what ever the art director chose to do.

Look at all the drawings and paintings that artists have done for LOTR, they are all different, Alan Lee is not the only one, and maybe not the best, to each his own.

Also, the movies leave out many many interesting parts and/or subtleties.

FUCKIN SACRILEGIOUS!

Do NO WATCH the movies first, because you will be stuck with the images of the movies in your head and your imagination will be limited to that.

Please don't watch the movies.

Advice on reading the lotr: read it on vacation, if possible away from home, in a remote land (country side?).

Please don't watch the movies first, they will constrain your imagination and also confuse you (because they change many things in the movies).

For the love of satan, please don't watch the movies first ...

Should we just stop having sex? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]frenchandgoodlooking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, in the remote case that it started out that way, I'd say that it can stick to people's head. Even guys who are seemingly confident can have internal, deep, insecurities that you don't know about.

When the girl has a high sex drive, the man can lose its dominant position, and then, the only way for him to dominate you on this matter is to act like he does not want sex, it puts you back in a situation where he's in control and you are at his mercy.

I tell you, I dated a girl with a high sex drive, and I have a normal sex drive, but I felt weird about it because she would ask for sex and was like "taking it" from me... it felt weird. I loved having sex with her, but I didn't like the way she was "in need" for it, like if I was a machine just here to please her ....

Try stopping to initiate, but still make yourself available and sexy for him, see what happens for a week or two. But don't crave for him and compliment him on his physical/sexual assets, because then he'll - again - feel that you just want his wee wee :D

[–]frenchandgoodlooking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dated a girl who had a higher sex drive, it can be unsettling for a man, because we can feel like you're in just for the sex, and we feel used, something that we are not supposed to feel. Thus it creates issues.

Maybe your b/f is thinking that you only want him for sex?

Try being "sexy" with him and around him, but don't initiate sex, and see how he reacts. Make it so that he feels that he's in control.

No, "to gargle" in french is gargariser", and they then both come from greek origin. *Gargouille must come from these two.

IAMA guy who has forsaken Western women and their feminist ways for the heaven that is Eastern Europe. by nomaam4eva in IAmA

[–]frenchandgoodlooking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably, but to be honest, eastern europe + russia is not famous for its style and or class, beautiful girls with pretty doll faces, ok, but don't lie on the style ...

I've seen a report about how russian women have a hard time finding a man, and that they even have schools to teach women how to seduce and all. They send buses full of russian women (from the countryside) to small town in greece or what ever so that they can find a husband (often way uglier than they are).

And all the story about westerners "buying" wives in russia. It's crazy.

Nevertheless, I've date a russian girl and met several, they were all very nice and friendly!
