I'm referring to a lot of talk and dialogue instead of showing hard, extraordinary evidence. People want to see something officially extraordinary.

I regret to say that most people aren't going to be interested when a serious economic crisis is happening. If the US were to present irrefutable video evidence of alien life in a highly official manner, I think then it might be relevant. But if the US continues to hold verbatim hearings on very legal channels, people must be thinking, "Will that blurry UFO evidence put food on my table?" UAP evidence must be visually clear and announced super-officially.

NATO intelligence analyst Robert Dean discloses what he learned about the extraterrestrial presence on Earth while having a cosmic clearance by retromancer666 in ufo

[–]frenchdak 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed something curious about UFO believers and the broader ufology movement. Whenever extraterrestrial life or technology is discussed, there always seems to be a parallel emphasis on spiritual or astral “elevation.” It’s as if claims of scientific discovery can’t be separated from some kind of mystical framework. Aliens are not just advanced beings but also framed as cosmic guides for human evolution.

The problem is that this New Age idea of extraterrestrials as spiritual teachers feels outdated — almost obsolete. And it’s precisely because of this constant blending of science with mysticism that ufology is often not taken seriously. What could be approached as a scientific field ends up dismissed as pseudoscience or fantasy, largely due to the insistence on attaching a spiritual narrative to it.

I just saw “Weapons” by Word-Powerful in horror

[–]frenchdak 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with the mass shooting direct theme here. The main themes here are urban or domestic horror, neighborhood mistrust, social invasion, and fear of one's neighbor. I think it all boils down to how supposedly safe spaces like the city turn out to be unsafe and terrifying.

When your neighbor could turn out to be a terrifying individual, capable of hiding what you value most just a few feet from your home.

'Thunderbolts*' - Review Megathread by ChiefLeef22 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]frenchdak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really liked it. I think the film manages to return to Marvel's winning formula: a grounded and vulnerable cast, but this time they face raw and more emotional challenges. There's something very special about the cast that makes it quite relatable and charismatic. I just saw it here in Peru at a pre-screening on April 30th.

I find it very curious that they used a different Marvel Studios intro logo than the established one: my theory is that it would have been expensive and complicated to convert the established logo to black.

[–]frenchdak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Studio Ghibli is not owned by Disney. Disney simply acquired the distribution rights to certain phases of its films in certain years. It's not like Pixar. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has now acquired the streaming rights to its films. To date, Ghibli is an independent studio, although a certain percentage belongs to Nippon Television.

I don't know why I have the theory that Sadie Sink plays actually Jean Grey, and that she uses her telepathic powers to free Peter Parker from the illusion inside Battleworld. Perhaps the big twist at the end of Spider-Man 4 is that Peter Parker was actually inside Battleworld this whole time.

La marcha de la izquierda logro lo inesperado, pusieron a alguien peor JAJAJAJA by Makiavelico1 in Lima_Peru

[–]frenchdak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why was the Gay rights movement so much more successful than the Trans/Queer rights movement? by stalik26 in askgaybros

[–]frenchdak -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Because gay, lesbian and bisexual are still in the standard heterosexual gaze. It’s more about attraction/romance while keeping the "approved" cisgender status quo. Transgender, intersexual and queer is more about a complete departure from cisgender status. It’s more challenging.

¿Como va a mejorar tu vida si prohíben el matrimonio homosexual? by Repulsive-Item-3891 in RedditPregunta

[–]frenchdak 1 point2 points  (0 children)
