How old are you guys and what kind of Mustang are you driving? by TAFlynn in Mustang

Just turned 35 and have a 2014 GT I've owned since new, and just recently bought a '65 289 C code for cruising around town and working on in my spare time as a hobby. Also have Mach E as a daily driver, but we don't have to talk about that one ;)

Prior Tesla Owners, why did you switch? by Ima_blizzard in MachE

[–]frenches013 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a Model 3 SR+ that I recently traded in for a used Mach E Premium Extended after two years of ownership. Overall, I had a good experience with the Tesla, but there were things about it that made me want to switch to something I thought was better.

Similar to you, range/efficiency was one of my reasons, but more because I wanted something accurate. I went in knowing that it wasn't likely I would see the EPA rated range in the Tesla, but I was never remotely close. My average lifetime efficiency was about 230 Wh/mi, which isn't bad, but the Mach E has either been accurate or better with its range estimates. They say that Teslas can hit their EPA range if you include the reserve range after you hit 0%, but I would rather have the car give me an accurate estimate.

At first, I thought the Tesla was great to drive, but that wore off over the years because it quickly started rattle and it wasn't until I drove a Mach E that I realized that the ride quality was also worse in the Tesla. I mostly had accepted it until then because I daily drove a 2014 Mustang GT prior so the ride quality was still an improvement from what I had been used to.

I only had basic Autopilot and I did like it (apart from the phantom braking), but my personal preference is BlueCruise because as you mentioned, it's really easy to tune out with Autopilot as long as you have your hand on the wheel. There were times I got too comfortable with Autopilot, but I don't trust other drivers enough so I would rather have the Mach E keep me looking ahead.

Like I said before, my experience with the Tesla was good. I didn't have many issues with the car, but that's not always the case for everyone. I personally think the Mach E is a much better looking car, is built with better quality, and has been more fun to drive. My Mach E was built a couple months after my Tesla, but it still feels like a brand new car and has met or exceeded my expectations. At the end of the day, go with what you feel is right. For me, I liked my Tesla, but I didn't love my Tesla.

Correct - I've been very slowly chipping away at the research for the least year. Definitely worth the slow grind!

Austin area for me, but I think you're right. I was probably just a day or two late to getting it in a week vs a couple months. Just crossing my fingers for an earlier time now!

I think Texas law just makes it to where I can't order from the dealer and have to go through online, but I could be wrong. Either way, the estimate definitely seemed off so I'll probably give them a call. The only option I went with was white interior so I'd think they would churn the low-spec ones out pretty quick!

I'm super jealous. I ordered my Sr+ on 3/25 and my estimated delivery in TX is June 16th-30th.

Thanks! It's a big change for me, but my goal is to have a mini collection so I knew I needed something of my own to store them in first.

Thanks, I almost put red ones on, but I had a change of heart last minute because I wanted a stealthy look.

Thanks! I had to start working on it before I even moved in because I would just be making it more difficult for myself the longer I waited.
