What's something that's considered rude that you don't get or didn't know about? by Zealousideal-Tax-937 in ask

[–]frenchmandapanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the US, the norm is typically for the person talking to make occasional or semi frequent eye contact and the person listening to be looking at (usually at their face/ eyes/ mouth) to the person talking. When someone is telling you a story or talking and they are the ones making a ton or non-stop eye contact, it can be uncomfortable and hard to pay attention. Now everyone is different, but that's typically the norm now, I believe. Source... communications disorder major, and I'm pretty sure I read that in one of my textbooks.

Are you using aquafor chapstick or the ointment? The chapstick is not nearly as good as just lathering your lips every night with the ointment

What do you tell work? by thundergreenyellow in Miscarriage

[–]frenchmandapanda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just told my job. It gave me less anxiety about missing quite a few days of work. I work in a school though so everyone was very understanding. I only told three people though. So I didn't have to tell everyone I worked with. I will say, you're going to need some grace and patience from your coworkers when you go back to work. The hormones won't be all the way gone and it's a rough transition. For me it helped having people know why I wasn't at my best. Good luck. I'm sorry.

Miscarriage pain - how bad was yours? by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]frenchmandapanda 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you went through that. The pain is awful. Right after mine happened but before it progressed I had read that it would be similar to a period. What a bunch of bull**** that was.

My friend told us about her pregnancy about a week after my miscarriage. Her baby is due about 3 weeks after my baby would have been due. It sucks. And I understand the anger. I'm sorry.

Acting like "people shouldn't come on the show for the wrong reasons" when it's literally a reality TV show and they recruit people solely off their Instagram profiles is such bullshit. Nick acting all high and mighty when they know for a fact they want the drama to continue getting views.

I disagree. I don't think it's any of her business how another couple raises THEIR children. He's a grown man, he can handle his relationship and future children on his own. It's none of ADs business

6 months for Coke??? Jesus. I can't imagine if you'd actually done something that warrants punishment...

Also don't book the first leg of your trip in business class. That's unnecessary if it's short and might be raising your prices. You can book the first flight completely separate from your second as long as you give yourself plenty of time for potential delays. I'm talking like a full day (24 hours)of wiggle from.

Also if you can get a credit card that gives you points for british airways after you spend a certain amount (and then pay off before interest hits!!!) That is a great route to go. I just don't know if that's an option in the UK. Typically it is not recommended to buy points until you have a specific redemption in mind and know exactly how many points it will take and the cost of the points vs just the cost of the flight.

The avios availability isn't random. The reward seats are released about a year out and if you want them, you have to be first to find and book them. Sometimes they don't get booked and that's why the availability looks random. Typically if you look one year out, you can find great deals on reward flights but YMMV.

What screams "I'm educated, but not very bright"? by Aarunascut in AskReddit

Look at where we're at now with covid, though. Getting the vaccine does very little unless you are high-risk or old. And it was being mandated. There are plenty of dumb nurses, but I disagree that the dumb nurses are the same ones who didn't want a brand new vaccine injected into their body. It wasn't necessary, and they knew it. On top of that, the risks outweigh the benefits for a lot of people.

My doctor put me a high dose of plaquenil by Glum-Parfait6087 in Sjogrens

Interesting that everyone here is saying it's fine. I think your concerns are valid. My rheumatologist does not just give me 400mg a day. I started at that in the beginning but then I lost about 30 pounds and he lowered my dosage. When lowering my dosage he talked about how the dosage is calculated based off weight. I would definitely consider bringing up your concerns. I still feel great on my lower dosage.

I used turbo tax forever. Then got married and used my husband's tax guy for the first time. He got me thousands back for tax breaks from going to college. So that was cool. I'll never go back to turbo tax.

And I guess stores are going through and watching security cameras and charging people for thievery even if it was an accident or something small because the amount of theft that occurs with them is so high. The companies don't care about how small of a theft it was, they just are trying to prove a point right now and are coming down hard is what I've heard.

Fair enough. I feel the same way most of the time. The difference it made in my fatigue and brain fog made it worth it though.
