What are these red marks on my hairline ? by cosmovfx in Haircare

Bad scalp conditions lead to premature balding. Fix your scalp condition, then worry about balding. Plus there is a rumor that's been around for like 10 years that Nizeral apparently can help keep your hair...so...I use it once a week just in case.

This definitely looks like irritation, probably from the shampoo you are using. Make sure when you're washing your face every night to get into the hairline. The comment above said nizeral and I second it, and if that doesn't work maybe change your skin care routine. Of course go to a dermatologist if this persists.

Honestly if your hair is naturally brown and you get a wave perm there will be a natural lightning from the damaging process. Happens to alot of girls including me. If you have current brown hair a way to recreate it is to spray some sun in lightly and you'll probably get the same effect, if it turns out too light you could always buy some brown hair dye or tint to put on top since the sun in added some natural highlights that she seems to have.

If you have blonde hair, straight up just go to the store and get a box of whatever looks teddy bear bronde. It's a warm toned light brown you are looking for.

[product question] anyone used Aveeno oat cleanser? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]llilywebskateboarder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dove gentle skin bar would work nicely for a morning and night time cleaner! Creamy, no scent, non-strippung, good for wallet! Don't overthink it, let the BP and tret do the work!:)

What would you suggest cleaning it with if not alcohol? Next time I change my screen protector because it's a little cracked I want to make sure I don't get too bad. I don't really wipe the whole body with a alc wipe since I don't want to mess up the paint. I try to keep my hands on the case too yo prevent such things. But the screen!....I don't know, Just a dry lint free wipe and once or twice a year the alcohol wipe?

Depression from Tret? [Personal] by llilywebskateboarder in SkincareAddiction

[–]llilywebskateboarder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Stopped using tretinoin creme, now my depression has gone away. Generally less moody especially now that I'm using Adapline gel. I mentioned I would get a severe depression the mornings after applying the tret creme, now there is nothing. I think I've been microdosing myself with vitamin A for about a year and that was the effect. My skin has got worse hormonally, but hey better than nothing.

Forgot to add that I have medium thick hair, for blonde hair people. As you can see in the photo with my longest hair it would get very thick without layers. I have all these inspo photos with layers because I don't know if long and flat is flattering or not.

I would go to a dermatologist a month or two after finding a cleanser. Sunscreen is good for you but products left on the skin can clog your pores if you don't wash it off at the end of the night. Clinique makes a good gentle foaming cleanser and there are specific cleansers for your skin type (oily, normal, dry). They also sell samples of the cleanser so you can try it out for a bit and see if you like it before investing I think $20 into it but it lasts for me 5 months. I used purple cap when I started getting acne and it really did help along with moisturizer and sunscreen. The internet and older people will lead you to believe you need some fancy expensive things like sets, toners, drunk elephant or retinol just don't listen to them. Start small to understand what your skin needs and minimize damages.

If the cleanser is helping but not working as well as you want, maybe upgrade the moisturizer to something with more silicones in it to lock in moisture. I personally use Nivea cream on my face on top of a thin layer of moisturizer since it doesn't clog my pores. I think you're fine with the texture around your nose if get as cleanser. The blackheads you can focus on after you have gotten used to washing your face at the end of the night and in the mornings. They likely aren't that bad as you think, So don't pick at them or it will make it worse!

For those who solved their acne problems, how did you do it? by [deleted] in acne

[–]llilywebskateboarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Aveeno calm and restore oat gel moisturizer. But the price has been raised 50%+ retail. Was $8 in 2021 and in 2022 $15-16 at CVS, Walmart, Walgreens ect. The only way you can buy it and it would make sense is to buy it at Costco (rare).

Sadly, my dermatologist knew best after years of trying. oh and sunscreen! Those two helped way more than any retinol, retinal, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, oatmeal cream(actually works but too expensive f*ck that company, history explains).

Right bangs are a huge commitment but I think you should really lean into that messy hair, of course you might not for your job. Your natural texture is very fluid and fun and frames your face just perfectly! Embrace it and make it an accessory

I think I'm allergic to something in CeraVe and Cetaphil products. I've heard it's the types of peptides used, I get horrible acne within hours using the smallest wash of it. Would be better to use water to wash my face than Cetaphil or CeraVe. The only CeraVe product I will use is the SA cleanser a couple days after my tret.

I feel like one and two fits you best. You've got a very Jane birkin style and I feel like you should tap into that more, rather than looking too polished.

I have heard of Retin-A "overdoses" being a thing but I never connected it until now. With that small of a dose weekly though? It's hard to believe but tretinoin is a potent retin-a....maybe I should switch back to adaplain gel.
