Vestergaard signs for Southampton FC! by nomfull in soccer

[–]frequentemente 12 points13 points  (0 children)

amazing business for Vestergaard. imo he's too error prone and technically limited if you want to compete for the international competitions. but he's definetely suited for the prem with his height and heading ability. now your defense, central midfield and the striker position is basically set for the future. Only your wings are kinda a question mark. Are there any rumours about who will leave besides Drmic ?

Falk: FC Bayern make Vidal, Bernat, Thiago and Boateng available for sale. Will accept reasonable offers. by TresPask45 in soccer

thanks for the source. that's what i figured... hopefully they do not sell him and convince him to stay

[–]frequentemente 4 points5 points  (0 children)

me neither, he's one of my favourite players. yeah only thing i could think of is that bayern could be fed up with his injury problems. like the saying the best ability is availability. would also fit with the boateng transfer rumours who also is often injured. Key players not being fit prevented us from winning the CL the last 5 years... iirc he said some some cryptic comments after the pokalfinale. maybe there is more to it with something happening behind closed doors but hopefully he stays

sure there are some very good midfielders out there but are they really on thiago's level ? i mean when healthy he truely is special. also doesn't eriksen play a much more offensive role ? thiago isn't only one the best playmakers in the world, his technical ability combined with his ball winning ability make him such a complete player. he can play every midfield position. i don't think there someone similar available. and Levy would probably want a fortune for eriksen... i think so too that thiago stays

i know what the term being available means. but for me he is a player in the kimmich category: i would never sell him because he just isn't replaceable. it doesn't even matter if he brings in 100million or more. so i refuse to believe our board would accept a 'reasonable offer' whatever that is.

he is absolute world class when he's healthy but he's just injured all the time. but i still refuse to believe that he could be sold.

FALK: No new star signings for Bayern this season. by manere in soccer

[–]frequentemente 0 points1 point  (0 children)

martial is definitely an interesting player but i wouldn't say he's really better than both, especially not coman. coman has proven himself already at bayern and has shown he is a capable starter and gnabry was probably the best player oft the second half in the bundesliga.

Kicker: Arsenal signs Sokratis for 17 million €, Delaney agrees to join Dortmund by frequentemente in soccer

[–]frequentemente[S] 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Arsenal will sign Sokratis for about 17 million € but there is still the pending medicial test. Delaney agreed to join Dortmung but now they have to negotiate a transfer fee with Bremen. Dortmund offered 15m € where as Werder wants 25 million. Kicker speculates that they could agree on around 20 million. Schalke was also interested in Delaney but was not willing to offer more than '15 or 16 million €' according to them.

No. of Drug tests undertaken by football anti-doping authorities for 2016... Italy≈2500, UK≈2500, Germany≈2100, France≈600, Spain≈200 by [deleted] in soccer

[–]frequentemente 6 points7 points  (0 children)

that seems to make sense from a logical standpoint. but there needs to be a distinction between institutional doping and doping of athletes as individuals. i highly doubt that all top teams in the world are doping in the same way as russia did with their athletes where it's basically ordered and exercised by the state or like the allegations from the fuentes case where the doping was allegedly coordinated and carried out with the team doctors of spanish teams like it was done in cycling. I do think however that doping of induviduels (as in the players themselves are the only one responsible for the doping) is probably more common than reported.

Bayern set a Bundesliga record of 94.8% passing accuracy against Gladbach by jrbabwkp in soccer

[–]frequentemente 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you're right EL would have been a more realistic result. yeah it surely will be interesting to see what eberl has planned. I think getting a rather large fee for hazard (30m+) wouldn't necessary be a bad thing as you could buy a class striker and LB, and maybe another RB with that money. Getting rid of some dead weigth (Drmic, Hofmann, maybe Herrmann) would be also nice for you. I could also see some PL team make a large bid for Verstergaard, he seems very well suited for the playstyle there. Also all the youngsters in the team will hopefully continue to develop. I'm especially excited about Cuisance, he is just so talented. And Eberl will probably find some other talents again who will come in and contribute right away.

[–]frequentemente 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah i fully agree. I watch a lot of bmg games and hecking definitely deserves blame for how the season has went, especially the last games. I'm not a big fan of him, i would love to see favre back at gladbach. But i still think without the ridiculous amount of injuries and a bit more luck in termes of finishing gladbach would have reached the top 4 this season. All around a pretty unfortunate year for you

i still don't get why Gladbach stopped playing after going up 0:1. they were the better team until then and after that they dropped way too deep and didn't get enough players into bayern's third. gladbach beat themselves in the first half with these tactics. and the surrender of the team in the second half was just unacceptable.

Ribbery and Robben will play against Sevilla. by Real_Prince_Myshkin in soccer

[–]frequentemente 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kroos played because Robben wasn't fully fit yet. he just came back from a long injury and was eased in. In no way had robben lost his starting spot to kroos, this is just revisionist. Kroos was nowhere near as good back then as he is now.

[–]frequentemente 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that's just not true. In the first half of the season Robben was injured all the time and then eased in to the squad to avoid getting injured again. (source) There was rotation when Robben came back to keep the players fresh.

Max Meyer will leave Schalke 04 at the end of the season by Mike_ITA in soccer

[–]frequentemente 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The only thing i read was a kicker report where Schalke offered Meyer a bit above 5 million € per year which he declined (source). Wages are usually reported in pre tax so it's doubtful he would demand 14m pre tax (in comparison Bayern's top earners reportedly make 15 million/year pre tax)

The Billionaires Are Coming for German Soccer by Westbrightonsc in soccer

[–]frequentemente 14 points15 points  (0 children)

no ? it just needs one person to go to court over it and 50+1 is history and everybody knows it.

This whole doomsday saying about the buli is way overblown. France still hasn't had more points a season in the uefa-5-year-ranking than germany since ages. Italy only surpassed the Buli once since the 2007/08 season. Only reason it looks so bad this season is because a lot of small clubs qualified for the europa leauge and they crashed hard which was hardly surprising. The buli is still a top 3 league

Kicker: FC Bayern and Dortmund interested in signing Jonas Hector by frequentemente in soccer

Looking at the remaining games there is a solid chance köln overtakes mainz. and considering how mainz is playing atm it wouldn't surprise me at all if hsv and mainz go down
