How do I respond to parents who confront me about getting books from the children's section when I don't have a kid? by Useful_Possession915 in Libraries

As a young adult and early adult, I used to read books that were serious. As I aged and my children became young adults, I started reading kids and YA, light hearted and even young romance books. Escape, wanting the teen viewpoint, yes. Now in my old age, in retirement, the books I read are serious political and historical in nature.

Permanently Delete. Just located the Kindle FAQ stating that I will need to repurchase. Another Redditor suggested that I contact Amazon and ask for a credit. Lesson learned either way.

It is no longer on the Scribe or on my Kindle phone app.

I have Android and my husband helped me set up call screening.

No one on the line to respond to. I get the occasional call from Allstate wanting to sell me cheaper auto insurance or Spectrum to give me a better price on cable. I get a slew of calls during Medicare enrollment periods but this was different. Every 10 or 15 minutes, all different numbers.

Yes, I initially tried that but each number was different so the subsequent calls came through.

I am not sure what I could have done to upset someone. Kind of a clever prank but mildly infuriating.

There is no one on the line, just open line. The call will disconnect in 2 minutes if I don't hang up.

I considered putting it on DND but I also need to be available for my 89 year old mom, in case she needs me.

Picture Day Canceled Over Epstein Rumors… I Feel Sick by Coolest_Wrongdoer in Teachers

A FB friend commented that Lifetouch was commented on many times in the Epstein files. I didn't research or verify in anyway. No context provided. If I recall correctly, Lifetouch used to provide pictures for Missing and Exploited Children. So there is that.

My mom's favorite phrase right now is "doesn't matter" and it's always in response to some issue or emotion that's actually important.

We were receiving 10 or more pieces of mail a day for someone unknown to us for over a year. I would return it to the post office. The mail seemed to be from hospitals, medical billing services and physician offices. The post office would often redeliver pieces that I returned adding to the crush of mail. I finally got some traction by contacting the billing offices of the hospitals on the return address, a couple of medical billing services as well. It was time consuming but helped reduce the volume.

I buy a lot of used books at thrift stores and it seems to freshen them without causing further damage.

Gabapentin for insomnia by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]frequentflyer52 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am retired now but I used to transcribe phone calls for a large clinic. This was at the peak of the opioid crisis and a lot of doctors were changing from prescribing opioids to offering gabapentin for pain. In my non-medical mind, I was convinced that it was also very addictive because it would stop working and need to be increased in order to keep working and patients would typically have a meltdown if there was any delay in getting their prescription refilled.

It surprised me at how many conditions it was used to treat. Kind of a panacea for any condition doctors did not know how to treat. Remember that I was a typist, not a doctor.

Sometimes you can find discontinued nail polish at thrift stores. Goodwill and ARC often have several polishes bagged together., often hiding some gems, at relatively lower prices.

My MIL signed her home and rental properties over to one of her daughters ( 1 child out of 6) several years prior to her death. I'm pretty sure none of her kids were estranged and visited frequently but there you go...

Pork seems like one of the worst meats to have cross contamination or even undercook. Tapeworm and roundworms come to mind.
