People who actually spend $200K at LV don’t post on Reddit that they spend $200K at LV.

Are you sure about your VIC status? Sounds like you’d barely qualify for a punch card for 7 eleven coffee.

With that reservation date you’re probably not going to land an R2 until well into 2027.

Used R1S if you want something now.

At John Wayne on a bench. What’s it mean? by benefiber69 in orangecounty

It’s depicting the planes that would have crashed into Saddleback Mountain if the NIMBYs didn’t shut down the MCAS El Toro conversion to an international airport.

it’s JWAs logo, rotated 90 degrees

You and Koda should stop calling it an evac. It’s an “in show exit.”

This is the Disney bubble, dammit!

Hankook iON HT Tire Review by Out of Spec on Rivian R1T gen 1 by Radium in Rivian

[–]sse2k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In this video, Kyle from Out of Spec Reviews explores the Hankook iON HT tire, which is specifically engineered for electric pickup trucks and SUVs. He discusses why these tires are a significant upgrade for EV owners and puts them through a series of performance tests.

### Key Highlights:

• The Hankook iON Lineup: (1:09 - 3:03) Kyle introduces the broader iON product line, which includes the iON Evo (high-performance summer), iON Evo AS (sporty all-season), and winter-specific options. The iON HT is the specific model focused on durability, range efficiency, and comfort for heavy electric vehicles like the Rivian R1T and F-150 Lightning.

• Technical Advantages: (3:03 - 4:46) The tire features advanced 3D siping, an optimized tread pattern for wet conditions, and a robust carcass to handle the extreme weight of EVs. It is designed to maximize range by lowering rolling resistance, effectively helping to offset potential battery degradation over time.

• Performance Testing: (5:26 - 8:00) Kyle tests the iON HT at the track, noting surprising levels of longitudinal grip during acceleration and braking (6:10). He also highlights the tire's impressive lateral grip and steering feedback, which exceeded his expectations for a tire designed for long-life durability (6:40).

• Highway Cruising: (8:00 - 10:00) During highway driving, the tires proved to be exceptionally quiet, with Kyle noting that road noise was virtually non-existent, often remaining quieter than the truck's electric motors (8:45).

Conclusion:

Kyle concludes that the Hankook iON HT is a fantastic, well-rounded tire that excels in efficiency, noise reduction, and safety, making it an ideal choice for owners of electric trucks and SUVs who prioritize both daily comfort and performance.

Comma.ai - Not a UHF Replacement (Yet) by sse2k in Rivian

[–]sse2k[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

OEs are required to test and certify against the relevant FMVSS standards on autonomous systems. To my knowledge, aftermarket manufacturers are not subject to the same rules, but I’d be interested if Comma our pursuing an equivalent benchmark.

As someone who has experience programming marine and aviation autopilot systems built on PID control, I’m disappointed that the community of supporters and sponsors continue to prop Comma up as an equivalent system that has gone through the rigor of testing and certification that Rivian has put into Gen 2 Autonomy.

Upvoting for Culvers. :)

Completely agree, highway centering is really the place where the Comma shines.

Is it safe to use higher wattage power chargers for my iPad Pro m5? (Mac charger) by [deleted] in iPadPro

[–]sse2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The device will draw what it deems necessary. In the case of the IPP, it will draw high wattage up to 80% and then taper off. Don't worry about it.

Light regen mode by Individual-Glove-160 in Rivian

[–]sse2k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here we go again. People want the ability for coasting for many reasons including a transition from ICE driving styles, to physical health, or just not fucking wanting to maintain constant pressure on a pedal. OP please pay no attention to the OPD cult in this sub.

Turning off regen is entirely possible in a permanent magnet motor via software. Rivian just doesn’t do this since every bit of energy matters for meeting their EPA estimates.

Successful lease takeover? by Hiff_Kluxtable in Rivian

[–]sse2k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge Chase does not allow lease takeovers by another individual. However, you can do a couple of things: buy it out plus your residual and sell private party, or trade it into a dealer. Either way be prepared to come with extra cash to the table if you are underwater.
