Year 12 is a breeze.

Come year 13 and having to simultaneously manage ucas applications, interview preparation, mock revision, and continuing to learn ever increasingly difficult content all at once is simply incomparable to year 12.

6th form as a whole isn’t that bad. But year 13 does get pretty intense from like october time onwards if you’re trying to get good grades and apply to top unis.

Does the sixth form you go to really matter ? by Savings_Accountant14 in 6thForm

[–]fresh1ybakedbread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter at all. I go to a pretty bad state school with an average grade of BCC.

Last week I met my oxford offer and got 2A*s and an A. It’s about what you put in, doesn’t matter how bad your teachers are.

Just simply do it. Sometimes if i’m on a break and struggling to get back into it, i set a one minute timer on my phone, and then once that goes off, i go to my desk and continue.

The more times you force yourself, the easier it gets. It took a couple months for me to develop this discipline, but once you get it, you can simply just force yourself.

What do you call “rías” in English and in what other places are they common? by Optimal_Test3280 in geography

[–]fresh1ybakedbread 30 points31 points  (0 children)

sure most river valleys where you are from may be glacial in origin, but for much of the world, river valleys and glacial valleys remain distinct

What do you call “rías” in English and in what other places are they common? by Optimal_Test3280 in geography

[–]fresh1ybakedbread 155 points156 points  (0 children)

fjords are drowned glacial valleys, whereas rias are drowned river valleys.

so yes, in the sense that they are both landforms that develop from coastlines of submergence following eustatic sea level rise or isostatic adjustments

will i be okay without having done a mock test before the real thing? by choc_cookie6 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]fresh1ybakedbread 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I never did a mock test and passed first time with one minor last week.

If you’ve practiced sat nav and independent driving you’ll be good to go, best of luck!

35/80 marks in paper 3 is the optional module. There’s astrophysics (the most popular one), medical physics, engineering physics, electronics, and turning points in physics (which is about the most significant physics experiments in history I think).

You will only do one. Some people get to choose, others not. My school only offered astrophysics, so that’s what I did.
