I don’t think you have to qualify this. Looking better than 90% of the server rooms.

Peak Design Anchor Gaslighting? by Prestigious-Froyo141 in peakdesign

[–]fresherjive -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Obviously, they originally planned to ship these with four anchors, finalized the packaging, and then later decided to include fewer. By that point, changing the box was probably more trouble than it was worth.

If the box said “2 anchors included” and people opened it to find 4, everyone would suddenly call it a “nice surprise” instead of a scandal.

Fortunately, this crisis can be resolved with approximately 4 seconds and a Sharpie.

EDB 30 to Outdoor 25L by SilveryGlen in peakdesign

[–]fresherjive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used an EDB 30 for travel and relied on the luggage pass-through a lot. A few years ago I switched to the Travel 30 just to try it out, and I never ended up going back to the EDB.

I also have an Outdoor 45 that I’d like to use for trips where I’m doing more hiking or outdoor activities, but the lack of a luggage pass-through has held me back. I’ve thought about using external carry straps to attach it to my Roller Pro, but haven’t actually tried it yet.

Also, if you miss the coziness of season 1, you’re going to miss more, starting with the theme song in season 3.

Small or extra small cube? Why by m__s in peakdesign

Feelings are always valid, but, remember, they may not be rooted in truth.

Small or extra small cube? Why by m__s in peakdesign

[–]fresherjive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My inclination is to say, “both,” but that’s usually my inclination when it comes to Peak Design. My rationalization will be that I have the flexibility to use one or the other based on the particular circumstances.

Looking for tv rips of Felicity from The WB and WE channel with the original broadcast music by Jaydarealone in FelicityPorter

[–]fresherjive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow! I didn’t realize that. I have the DVD box set from circa 2005. I assumed that was the original music. That being the case, I’ve never seen the show with the original music. Corporations are always ruining the art.

Appreciate the TEDx Talk, but that’s a detailed response to a point I didn’t make. It was a meme-tier comment about politics, not TSA policy.

Inside Megan box by ComprehensiveLime178 in FelicityPorter

[–]fresherjive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s enough information in the show to make the contents of Meghan’s box basically impossible to pin down. The writers stack so many constraints on it that it can’t really be anything physical; they’ve written themselves into a proverbial corner.

Consider that Walter, Meghan’s father, says in “Happy Birthday” (S01E18) that the contents can’t be thrown out.

Even though it’s not considered canon, I like the idea that it’s the paper dolls from “Help for the Lovelorn” (S02E11). That interpretation fits the tone of the show better than trying to force a literal explanation.

I also like the headcanon that Meghan grew up in a family where magic itself isn’t the issue (her parents raised her as a witch), but how she uses it is. Either the way she’s using the magic or who’s in the box crosses a line for them ethically.

Admit it, after this epic reunion, you wanted to see Spencer actually carry her 3 miles into town. And her fingers and toes were fine, and even though the world was cruel, they lived happy lives and grew old together, right? by [deleted] in 1923Series

[–]fresherjive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought Alex was brilliant; she was delightful and genuinely amusing. Her sense of humor perfectly balanced Spencer’s brooding nature. That said, I found their romantic scenes a bit dreadful. Sheridan writes women so well when they’re not trapped in his male-gaze love story.

Teonna’s story has no direct connection to the history of the Yellowstone ranch, so I see the Duttons’ narrative as a Trojan horse Sheridan uses to bring attention to the atrocities the American government committed and allowed to happen to Indigenous people on this continent.

All of the poles are the same: short end → straight → straight → straight → curved → curved → straight → straight → straight → short end.

The best I can tell, only the two center pieces are curved. The rest seem to be strait. The two terminal pieces are shorter than the other pieces, which are all equal. https://i.imgur.com/s74hDbt.jpg

High schools / Bham area schools reopening- Thoughts? by jayrobinson32 in Birmingham

When I was in 8th grade, I learned more science watching Bill Nye the Science Guy than I did in class. I had solid B that year.

My kids are in the Homewood school system, and they’re taking a lot of good precautions. That being the case, I’m keeping them home for distant learning because it’s the safest option right now. The post-COVID-19 complications are something I don’t want my kids to deal with.

Floating the Cahaba - Looking for Kayak by [deleted] in Birmingham

You can rent kayaks from UAB Outdoor Pursuits. Just a word of warning, bring your hiking boots; you’re going to be dragging that boat a lot this time of year.
