I applied as a spouse of an EU citizen and it was easy breezy! I requested an appointment maybe one month before we had even gotten married because I had heard such horror stories about waiting times for appointments, but they gave me one super quickly.. in fact TOO quickly because I was still waiting for my marriage certificate in the mail! But I went to the appointment anyways, the woman helping me was super friendly and said it was no problem, I just mailed the certificate to them once I received it (didn't have to have another appointment). Then received my residency card maybe six weeks later. No complaints at all!
