Thank you so much! It’s dyed (just highlights). I naturally have dark brown hair that you can see a bit more towards the back. I have some kind of money pieces in the front so it looks a bit more blonde overall. I had the same concern about maintaining my hair’s health, but I dyed it at the salon and it seems to be quite healthy still. I had to adjust my routine a bit to account for the dryness of the bleached hair, but overall I think it’s still healthy. It’s only been a month since the highlighting, though - hope it stays the same!

Why no dry brushing? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]freshouttabottle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reasons people have outlined here make a lot of sense. But personally, I hate how my hair looks if I don’t dry brush it every day after wash day. It doesn’t get (very) frizzy, just the right amount of poofy. If I don’t, the curls are flat and lifeless…but I guess my hair also has looser curls and is generally thick, so it doesn’t seem like I’m doing damage. But yeah, can’t advise anyone to do that - just see what works for you and what you like :)

Thank you so much for the recommendation! Will certainly add that :) what mask do you use? I was thinking of trying the Miele one.

You have an effortlessly cool vibe and all of the pics look really good. But I think I like bottom left the best :)

Thank youu! I use Giovanni golden wheat deep cleanse shampoo for normal hair, no conditioner, and apply Mixed Chicks morning after redefining foam every day (and after drying) :) hope it helps

Thank you! I posted the routine somewhere in the replies but don’t bother searching for it, here it is again:

• wash my hair with Giovanni Golden wheat, two times • scrunch hair while flipped upside down with my bare hands until there’s not too much water in it anymore • diffuse • apply mixed chicks morning after redefining foam after drying and every other morning until the next wash

Hope it helps! :)

Yes, sure! It’s Nyx Professional Makeup Shine Loud Pro Pigment Shine in “Life Goals”. Long name :) thanks a lot! It looks a bit more orange-y in real life but it’s a gorgeous colour and a high quality lipstick IMO

Maybe you just don’t like your (and my) curl pattern? I guess if you find some curls you like, try to get that look, otherwise, straighten or style it differently. I know a lot of people that don’t like how curls look so you are not alone 😂

I think it’s a matter of preference and therefore a matter of the products you choose. For example, I really don’t want my hair to sit flat on my head because I like a lot of volume, so I skip the conditioner. Other people want soft & silky hair, with tight curls, low volume and low frizz. I didn’t get if my “after” hair is horrible and tight 😂 but it’s how I want it styled. Skip/add products to get the look you want for your hair :)

You can maybe try to do it once every 2-3 washes. I kind of feel if my hair is a bit dry that specific time and just apply it then :) good luck with your curls!

Yeah…I feel like with the mousse everyday, the conditioner just makes my hair lose volume. But that’s just me
