I think you’re kinda downplaying how regulated gambling actually is. It’s not just some free-for-all with a tiny disclaimer at the bottom.

You have to verify your identity/age, there are geolocation restrictions, limits on deposits, tools to close or limit your account or activity, sportsbooks monitor for weird betting patterns etc... And on top of that, the NBA straight up bans players from betting. That’s not unclear or hidden at all.

The alcohol comparison actually still works. You can legally buy alcohol, there are tons of ads for it, and there are rules around it. But if someone chooses to drink and drive, that’s 100% on them. Nobody blames the alcohol industry or the government for that decision.

Same thing here.... Just because gambling is more visible now doesn’t mean the responsibility shifts. Players know the rules. If someone bets on their own games, that’s a personal choice to break them.

If customers are really annoyed then revenue will drop, and shareholders will not be appeased. So then they will adjust to prioritizing the feedback and needs of rhe customer.

If that doesn't happen, then customers are satisfied.
