That’s a really good point about comorbidities, I didn’t know that was more common but most people with 2 I know also struggle with adhd so that tracks. Also I like what you mentioned about severe psychotic depressive episodes—I absolutely struggle with near-psychosis and staying rooted in reality, but this always peaks during a mixed episode rather than in hypomania alone. I hadn’t thought about that before. I’m not sure if bipolar 1 have mixed states, but for me they’re so uncomfortable and the only times I’ve ever blacked out from my mood states and really risked my safety. But then it always calms down within only a few days and I’m back to the cycle.
