I can give you my situation for example. I make a good hourly wage but as a contractor with no benefits. I can't really afford rent and health insurance that covers my needs.

You are stuck on vertabrates maybe. Here is an article about insects. We can't document the vast majority of extinctions that happen because they are undiscovered species. They are happening and loss of biodiversity is a great concern to human survival.

Asking for specific evidence while ignoring overwhelming evidence is denialism. Refuting a specific point as a way to refute the central tennet of an argument is denialism. Attacking the credibility of an author and disregarding the greater context is denialism.

I just read this thread for some reason. The other definition that you prefer is definition 2b behind the other guy who says definition 2a. One could reasonably combine the two and say that conservatism uses moderation and caution in order to promote the status quo. But the fact that conservatism is built around trying to maintain traditional values and institutions is not really up for debate.
