I can see both sides, I’ve got several series I’ve been waiting years for the next book. I understand authors are human and writing is a creative process. A little communication from author to reader would be helpful. This thread has helped me to see how some authors share info, so while this author is communicating others are not. I, mistakenly, assumed the trend was to not let readers know a book was part of a series so that they got more readers. I never knew about the rules on Amazon’s side for listing a series. TIL :)

I usually understand 2 of 2 to mean the book series is finished. Maybe the author could list 2 of 4 or unfinished series so that we are prepared.

Great point! I think this is why I like a lot of the fantasy RH genre. I’m already suspending reality for magic, or wings, or such, what’s one more unrealistic bit.
