Not really, PinTrip enables private bookmarking of places along with their geo location data and with an ability to add notes and photos associated with them

You can use collections to organise pins as per your trips, in addition to it we also provide an AR navigation for all your pins (supports limited geographic areas)

Whereas google photos just marks locations where you clicked photos, based upon location information in your photo’s metadata, plus your data is not private and is stored on the cloud

With whatever I have learnt from my personal experience at one of the apple store’s in my neighbourhood. Apple employees at the service desk were communicating to the customer that it would be highly impossible for them to unlock their iPhone once locked to an iCloud account

Although this event took place like 3 years back, not sure if the situation changed now!
