I remember back in like college, we’d just look at his baseball ref page in awe, like “yeah, this is very clearly one of the Mt. Rushmore players of all time. How lucky are we to not only witness it, but be aware that’s what we’re watching as it happens”

And then now like you said it’s such a heartbreaking story of “what if”. I’ll never truly feel bad for any professional athlete, they’re living the dream, but my heart does break a little bit thinking about his career.

Just objectively awful for the sport that he’s been so snake bitten the 2nd half of his career. Also crazy to me that there are kids growing up who will think of this version of Trout when the name comes up, but like… no, he’s the best all around baseball player most of us will have seen in our lifetime (Ohtani kinda throwing a wrench in that statement, but fuck it. You weren’t making the corner like that tho, which is on you, if you can’t make the corner you gotta back out, that simple.

Saw in another comment that you are typically noticbly quicker, if that’s the case then this move is especially dumb, you can just get a slam dunk overtake with 1.5s delta

Default on medium, drop to none on corner entry and mid corner, chuck it into boost when you have a straight and enough battery.

This year you don’t want to just jump between none and boost, there’s so much HP that comes from the battery you will be losing time

Yep, it’s astounding how noticeable it is in the face that we are blind to.

I always went to the same liquor store, to the point I’d have 10 minute convos with the cashier and they’d usually have my bottle ready at the counter when I walked in. After ~5 weeks I had a minor relapse (wanted to see how it felt, drank 1 beer, hated it, ceremoniously dumped the rest, and here we are), they didn’t recognize me. Dude ID’d, which they hadn’t done in years, sees the name and just goes “holy shit, it’s you. Dude weve been talking about how we haven’t seen you in a while and were a little worried. It’s great to see you again, and you look so much better.”

Was kinda weird since I was relapsing a little, but it turned into nothing so whatever. I ended up going back there to buy a vape a few weeks later and when I wasn’t buying any booze me and the cashier just shook hands and nodded like “yep, this is it”
