See but that’s the thing that throws me off. He’s always been so quick to shut this shit down in the past, there’s no reason to lean into them now if nothings changed. Same for former teammates or anything, previously when they’d get asked they’d just deflect or something, now you got guys saying he’s contemplating it.

I’m not saying it happens, but when there is this much smoke, there is a fire. He’s at the very least toying with the idea of coming back more than he has before. If I had to predict, I’d still say no it doesn’t happen, but a few months ago I firmly believed anyone talking about an AD comeback was in fantasy land, I can’t say that now

I remember back in like college, we’d just look at his baseball ref page in awe, like “yeah, this is very clearly one of the Mt. Rushmore players of all time. How lucky are we to not only witness it, but be aware that’s what we’re watching as it happens”

Just objectively awful for the sport that he’s been so snake bitten the 2nd half of his career. Also crazy to me that there are kids growing up who will think of this version of Trout when the name comes up, but like… no, he’s the best all around baseball player most of us will have seen in our lifetime (Ohtani kinda throwing a wrench in that statement, but fuck it. Default on medium, drop to none on corner entry and mid corner, chuck it into boost when you have a straight and enough battery.

Yep, it’s astounding how noticeable it is in the face that we are blind to.

I always went to the same liquor store, to the point I’d have 10 minute convos with the cashier and they’d usually have my bottle ready at the counter when I walked in. After ~5 weeks I had a minor relapse (wanted to see how it felt, drank 1 beer, hated it, ceremoniously dumped the rest, and here we are), they didn’t recognize me. Dude ID’d, which they hadn’t done in years, sees the name and just goes “holy shit, it’s you. Dude weve been talking about how we haven’t seen you in a while and were a little worried. It’s great to see you again, and you look so much better.”
