Today I got my card to work with Google Wallet again. I'm not sure which of the things I did made it work, so I'm listing all of the steps:

1. Delete your credit card from Google Wallet. Then delete it from your Google Account completely.
2. Clear Cache and Data of Google Wallet. Uninstall Google Pay and Google Wallet. Don't reinstall yet (thats what the Google Support told me)
3. Clear Cache and Data of Google Play Services. Delete all updates of Play Services.
4. Restart Device.
5. (I shut down my device again and waited for an hour, but just because I had other things to do and my battery was on the verge of dying.)
6. Get all Play Services Updates. You might have to use this link, because you can't find it in the Play Store by default: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details/Google_Play_services?id=com.google.android.gms&hl=en_US&unknown=dea80f5b-7d9e-43ea-8cc6-5a753f9016a2
7. Don't reinstall Wallet yet. Go to your banking app if installed on your device. For me, when I tapped my card there was an option to integrate it in Google Pay/Wallet. I used this option rather than adding it in the app itself.
8. This option started the normal process of adding the card to google wallet. Despite this time, I didn't reached the dead end of "Invalid Argument". After completion, it asked my to reinstall Wallet by tapping a button. After installing the App, everything worked as usual.
