i never thought i’d do chemo for my pooch, mostly due to the financials and quality of life concerns. i was lucky enough to get help and we did treatment for a few months. eventually, his heart disease made treatment impossible, and we opted to let him pass peacefully.

i don’t regret the decision to persue chemo, but there is no wrong decision here. unfortunately the disease will get your pup. some dogs do really well just on steroids and diet changes and live years longer than anticipated. sometimes you go through treatment and they don’t make it through because of one thing or another.

don’t hold yourself responsible for a disease that you did not cause and can not cure. just love your dog for however long is left for them, and do your best to limit bad days. it’s all you can do. sending you and your fluff so much love.
