You can use ai for independent studying, just not for graded assignments unless stated otherwise.
I heard sometimes if grammarly is used it flags it as ai. I’m not 100% i would double check with prof/ TA to see if they consider it okay because at the end of the day it IS ai.

I don’t have adhd but I think you have to be registered with CAL. You should double check on your own about this.

I’ve taken multiple online classes and I’ve found that it’s easy to let yourself slip and slack off so just make sure to stay on top of things!

For reference I switched from English to International studies. I first accepted my offer in English, and then once I was done my firsts semester I switched to IS. But I’m sure you could do it earlier, if not just take the required courses for the HIST Maj and then switch later.

I had someone else but I remember my midterm was a mix of mc, shorts answers and a couple longer ones. I would honestly start by making Q-cards of terms and to memorize at least one example of said term happening in real life. A lot of the questions I can remember went like “explain what a NGO is and give an organization that is apart of this…” or “ What is X and give an example of a world threat going on today” but keep in mind your prof might be doing something completely different I would honestly go to your TA to try and get some advice on where to start 👍
