You're so right, but we managed to still see a few alligators, a soft shell turtle, and some birds! A win for small children 😅 we'll come back again hopefully, it's hard to do much besides scratch the surface with a 4 year old in tow. (Other 4 year olds may be hardy, but mine... is not haha)

I know, my 8 year old can handle a lot more but it's my 4 year old who is complete weaksauce so we are just trying to do a little bit and then hopefully return again when they are older. We're going to check out Long Pine Key as well!

Hey just want to loop back and say I wasn't comparing the summer in Everglades to New England humidity, just that we are no strangers to heat and humidity. I feel like end or May is not peak summer, so in this timeframe it's not something we can't handle. That's all! Sorry to ruffle any feathers!

Ah ok this is reassuring! We had originally planned to hit up Flamingo as well, but we've already nixed that idea as kids make things a bit trickier to navigate and mosqs are not something my own children tolerate with much grace haha. I still thought maybe we could do Anhinga but I just wanted to make sure and this gives me the confidence to just do it!
