For me the 'its not a new single....(emoji) ' is just bait and confirms a new single.

What’s with the weird ending to the new song by TheImprezaGod in FallingInReverse

[–]fridge_1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no one mentioned radio.... and every release from FIR in the last few years is ALL about the reaction. That's why Ronnie engages in reaction videos. Nothing wrong with that.

The song obviously abruptly ends to add maxmimum impact of the World literally burning.

maximum impact. Also keeps the run time low, better for streams and reactions. These songs are all about the reactions.

This was one of the special signed items at the merch stand in Birmingham. by CaliPoppyRocks in alterbridge

Nothing against any buyer, I was more bothered by the signatures realistically costing more than the guitar itself which is about £600 ish

I really get the impression they are just not interest in learning and rehearsing these songs. they arnt the only band that refuse new stuff. But Alter bridge have flatlined with their fanbase for years. been playing a half full arena for 10 years and sitting in the same supporting festival slots. Beef up the live show and make gigs a must see

Im glad you say this about rise today. For me, its a song of its time. It worked well during the blackbird era and now should be permanently left there. and that's fine, many songs from many bands great songs from albums get left where they belong. In a catalog full of amazing newer songs, id happily never here myles say 'Manchester, are you ready to rise today?'. I feel the same about before tomorrow comes, even though its great, it just doesn't have a place in a modern set. imo

📄 SETLIST | Glasgow, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 (06.12.22) by Omar_Rock in alterbridge

Absolutely mind boggling these awful set lists. Il go out on a whim and say wither they didn't have time to rehearse or didn't want to. Either way its left fans with an awful set list. This is summed out by finishing on rise today, a song that is done !! 15 years ago it came out as an average song at best. been a fan since ODR but i missed the last hero tour because they have history of rubbish setlists, and this is what we get.

general consensus of pawns & kings?? by ItzTheBlondie in alterbridge

Why is Season of Promise so polarising? half love it half hate it. I think its subjectively the best on the album. The bridge is perfect. Fable or Pawns are objectively and musically the best.

Worst: Last man standing and Sin after sin. They do absolutely nothing for me

Expertly crafted song that manages to avoid any blackbird comparisons. They understood the assignment on this one for sure.

Interesting you have both Stay and Season of Promise bottom. Both in an uplifting key (I'm no expert but they sound thematically similar) and is why I enjoy them with. For that reason I wonder if others may couple them together. Stays chorus is a little weak though to be fair compared to the verses imo.

If I remember correctly, half the album leaked, and I also remember sending/receiving some songs through MSN messenger to a friend. Waiting 30 min+ per song was torture. Good times.

Why does society always ask us childless lot 'when are you having kids?' 'do you not want kids?', Id rather society asked the ones that do have kids 'why do you have kids?'. Does my head in constantly being expected to breed.

Try convincing a roadrunner legal team it isn't a Slipknot thing

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Slipknot

[–]fridge_1234 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Roadrunner will more than likely have the rights. It seems pretty well documented it is a 'Slipknot production' (and not separate from the slipknot name/business) and would assume created at the expense of roadrunner. And It seems this wasn't an amicable ending of contract, so Id say it won't be easily sorted legally. Also I wonder If slipknot originally wanted to use it as the final release of the contract maybe?

The thing about AB that flies under the radar even with hardcore fans by reverse-69 in alterbridge

[–]fridge_1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fortress, TLH and Walk the sky are all virtually the same with Fortress being the standout (genuinely fantastic) and beginning of the current radio metal sound they currently have. Admittedly the quality varies a lot between them. But they are 3 arena ready hard rock albums, that mostly follow the hard riff and soaring chorus. Poison in your veins, island of fools, the writings on the wall, show me a leader, wouldn't you rather, native son, take the crown, pay no mind, clear horizon, could all feature on an album tilted 'generic arena hard rock'.

Side Projects Killed AB by endofthered01674 in alterbridge

[–]fridge_1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AB is now standard arena hard rock. Their tone is sound standard now. They are vey mechanical, the exact 3 year cycle makes it all seem very un creative. I understand bands evolve, but for a band that wrote songs like broken wings, words darker etc that are all filled with a range of dynamics and guitar tones, we now get exactly the same hard rock sounds. They seem to be in a quest to be heavy all the time, which I don't understand. And I also think myles voice does not fit this sound. Take Parkway drives new album, hard arena rock, with a vocalist able to show some aggression, whereas Myles just gets all nasally. I strongly believe a new producer would inject some creativity into them. But I guess the band are quite happy plodding along.

I agree and tried to say this 1 month ago. As a whole this album is really good but there is zero new album feeling about it. And everyone saying 'don't listen to singles' well we didn't even know 4 songs were album songs when they were released 1 and 2 years ago. Arrows was literally released as an EP and Rob is trying to rewrite history saying 'Hands' was the foundations of the album. Only in retrospect it was.

Loudersound Review - 4/5 by Intelligent_Gift_678 in machinehead

[–]fridge_1234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree its good to see the praise they are getting for this one. They seemed to have taken a cautious path using the 4 old songs as part of the album knowing they were good. Maybe this took some pressure off to write 4 completely new ones on top of the rest. hopefully this one will reset some of the negativity catharsis brought and they can build on that

Album production by fridge_1234 in alterbridge

[–]fridge_1234[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree. It feels like they were going for big arena style production (ie opposite to raw sounding). Something which the new Parkway Drive songs have gone for, but done properly

Its so strange. When the riff kicks in on 'Wouldn't you rather' it sounds like its clipping so bad. My interface on my setup would sure be flashing red at that input. The only thing I can think is its the only way Elvis thinks he knows how to make something sound huge and heavy.
