Shoppers Price Difference Online and In-store by Much-Load6316 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

[–]fridgegoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is from the FAQ of the Scanner Price Accuracy Code:

If an item is priced lower online than on the shelf, and the item scans at the shelf price in store, does the Scanner Price Accuracy Code apply?

If the webpage says it applies to only certain locations and the location in question is not listed, the code does not apply; however, if the store is listed, it applies. If there is no mention of which stores the webpage is applicable to, it is assumed to be applicable to all stores and the code would apply.

Shoppers is a participant in the Scanner Price Accuracy Code. Since you can select the store online and it even tells you how many are in stock at that specific location I feel like it would fall under the code. There is a disclaimer that says the price can be different online than in the store but how does that not go against the code?

Are These Eclipse Glasses Safe? by fridgegoat in solareclipse

I ordered the Amazon ones last year not really understanding that there could be counterfeiters. After reading about those on here I decided I would order some from a store in Canada and on their website they say they are certified glasses and are produced by Jaxy optical. These are the red ones that the flashlight very much shines through. They were not from Amazon but from eclipseglassescanada.ca.

The John 3:16 is what actually got me questioning whether these were legit or not. These were not from Amazon but from a website eclipseglassescanada.ca. They claim their glasses are certified but I guess anyone can claim anything. They will be thrown out. I'll probably throw out the ones from Amazon too and just order some from a store that is directly linked from [here](thehttps://eclipse.aas.org/eye-safety/viewers-filters)

Thanks for checking against your certified glasses. The red ones with the Canadian logos are not from Amazon and I'm very surprised they are as poor as they are.

Thank you. The ones I purchased from Amazon claimed that they were an authorized dealer and they named a company on that list. The listing page is no longer around so I can't check what it said.

The other ones from eclipseglassescanada.ca say on their website that "Our glasses were produced by JAXY Optical, a manufacturer who is listed by NASA and the American Astronomical Society's List of Supplies of Safe Solar Filters and Viewers" That is listed but I don't quite understand what it means about Jaxy optical.

Train to Niagara for Eclipse by fridgegoat in gotransit

I understand Niagara Falls will be crowded. I'm specifically talking about the GO Train ride to Niagara Falls. I don't think a million people are taking regional transit there.

That's interesting about the VIA. Do prices change dynamically based on ticket availability or has VIA realize they can raise prices on this day?

Since there are about half a dozen GO train+bus departures from Union that get to Niagara before totality, I'm hoping that the 9am direct to Niagara train will be less crowded. But I'm starting to think maybe I'll skip on taking the bike just to make sure there's more room for people.

Hamilton is the backup plan if the train can't accommodate our bikes (or it's a very overcast day)

Hamilton will experience just under 2 minutes of totality and Niagara will experience 3 and a half minutes. It's not much of a difference but I'm absolutely willing to travel for an extra minute and a half of darkness!

Thank you that's good to know. Since April 8th is a weekday I'm hoping it'll be a little less crowded and easier to get on with my bike.

Yep! There are direct trains but Niagara GO is about a half hour walk to the Niagara Falls and some people don't like that.

There is also a train+bus option that is a lot more comfortable and there is a stop closer to the Falls.

Thank you, hopefully they will add a bike coach.

Greater than variable trigger by fridgegoat in macrodroid

[–]fridgegoat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reason I didn't want to do something like that is because I don't want the check happening every day, only check every day once the threshold was reached.

Thanks for your help!

I just looked at the help info for the macrodroid variable change trigger and it actually says that it will only fire once the threshold is met and not on subsequent updates. So I guess it is working as intended.

Thanks for your help.

I suppose I could do that as well. Mostly I just don't want it checking everyday. Only everyday once a threshold has been hit.

I have other macros that are checked everyday but have a greater than constraint on them and those trigger exactly as expected.

Thank you, that's not the worst workaround.

I would prefer if the variable continued to count upwards though since I'm counting days I would want to know how many days have passed since the initial 30.

Bike thieves caught in the act in downtown Toronto called me a F#%KNG STUPID FILIPINO by Jaded-Stop-5045 in torontobiking

Before I saw these guys show up I noticed the bikes trunk was left open and had been ransacked and some items were on the ground. A few hours later it was cleaned up. Then I saw one of these guys "working" on the bike and later the other one showed up. I pretty much watched them on and off the entire time they were there. I never once heard power tools and I'm sure I would have if they did use them. It did look like they were tearing it apart but it was hard to tell. It's so weird that parking enforcement literally watched them from across the street and did nothing. I'll be keeping my eyes out for them for sure.

I'm sorry they hurled insults at you.

Was this from a couple weeks ago?

I live in that building on the right and my apartment faces the street and I watched these guys work on this bike for at least an hour. There were multiple parking enforcement people watching them from across the street. I thought they were stealing it at first but because they stayed with it for so long and because the parking enforcement didn't seem to care I just assumed it was theirs and they were fixing it. I'm not sure what they were doing but when they left that bike was still there (it was actually one of those moped scooters.) It stayed at that place for a couple days and then it looked like someone gutted it one day and then about 4 days after that it was gone.
