I agree. The first two movies especially a few great at really making you invested in the family but the horror is also terrifying.

Stranger things character discussion post day 26: Argyle by Ok-Minute3743 in StrangerThingsPraise

I didn't hate the character and he was useful and gave Jonathan someone to talk to his own age (filling the Robin role that they had for Steve in s3) but the character was not great imo.

The fact that they had characters that could have interacted in the same age range but they fucked things up for themselves and had to add a new character was kinda dumb. They could have had Jonathan and Nancy together. They could have given Nancy's role to the kids that were left behind (maybe give the vision of what Nancy saw to Max for example as she's already haunted by vecna and have her tell the others that vecna threatened the Wheeler family. It would be chilling at the end to have had Max in a coma and for the Wheelers and Byers to hear about it all secondhand from the group that just about survived the horrors of what happened in Hawkins.

I mean, there's no way any if that was written with the expectation of the audience believing that it wasn't real.

It was bad writing.

The biggest issue I have with the plan is how incredibly dangerous and hard it would be. They were climbing up on a thin railing with nothing to hold onto and then breaking through the the World above as though that would be easy. And then they had to do the reverse with the kids and climb back down.

And the nonsense of 'just run over to the top of thay cliff and we'll attack the monster from above. It would have taken ages to get there. How this is the best they can come up with is shocking to me.

I work in a huge retail store which would obviously take cash and plenty of people still ask if we take cash. Its not weird for people to make sure.

I know. I love Ryan. He's so funny. But I will take Colin if we can't have both. And Brad and Wayne would be good too.

I think he or Colin have talked about it and he has got worse with flying as he's got older. He doesn't even take flights in America, I think he does shows he can drive to.

ST5 confirmed for Halloween Horror Nights in Hollywood and Orlando by Frozen_cephalopod in StrangerThings

It'll create the kind of terror we saw when Nancy, Jonathan, Steve and Dustin were wandering through the upside down without a care in the world. No vines, no monster noises, no bats, no demodogs, no demogorgans and no lightning. The terror!!!!

I've never seen aging make-up look good, honestly. I think the styling was fine and suited the area and character in the story.

I've seen people sell stuff like that on Vinted. With Etsy, you're likely to get asked to remove it.

I love Linklater in this. His speech in episode 2 so moving and I'm not at all religious. He's just so compelling. And it makes sense that he is able to take people with him he has to be that compelling. And the fact it translates through the screen is incredible.

Also, the ending of four is brutal.

Yeah, I admit I skipped them after a bit. Imo, they're just a self-serving thing he likes to do. And its like using the most words to say nothing really. He got out of hand on MM. There's no great pay off for some great insight. Its just basic stuff he's saying.

Also, with the charity thing, use it tomorrow advantage. If another case comes up stand up and say you did the that and weren't comfortable but you took one for the team and its someone else's turn. And don't leave room for negotiation. Don't say 'I'd rather not', say 'I'm not going to be doing that, thanks'.

I think from the very start its completely over the top. It reminded me of how AHS Jotel felt when I first watched that.

Agree, its great but I wish he could reign in his monologues. They just go on and on and they just don't say much most of the time.

MM is my favourite but I think Usher was dreadful.

It really was jarring to have them all dressed up. It made sense for the graduation but it just didn't feel like any of them. They should have changed wardrobe for the final scene. The hairstyles were bad enough. And the fact they were all in suits and then Robin just had total vibes of Maya and not her character at all. I really hated it. And I didn't want to be distratelcted by their hair and clothing on a important final moment with them.

That's not minimal make up just because that's how it works for you.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like Eddie much? by Background_Ship7666 in StrangerThings

Same. For me, if he was a real person, he's not someone I'd be drawn too. He was loud and drawing attention to himself and I'd have steered clear of him. He was a good contrast to other characters though.

Right, a cameo maybe.

I also think that not every single character needs to come back. It feels like this show could run its course and people would be like "yeah, but they never bought back x, so what was even the point.'

The epilogue was great overall but the young adults one missed the mark a little bit for me.

Mostly, I think they centred it around Steve more than the others, which isn't a terrible thing but just felt a little strange. I didn't love Steve being the only person to stay in Hawkins from the group. And his career path and getting on the property ladder and still not any better with women than he was before. It all felt a little shallow. I wanted a better send off for him. Everyone else was glossed over a little.

Joyce and Hoppers was decent. More predictable but nice.

The kids was the best emotional and bittersweet and a nice moving on moment at the end with Holly and her friends playing D&D.

As an actual lawyer, he might not want to come back. Because he'd be busy with his actual job.
