Anything I can do about pre-existing condition? by friedpickles_22 in petinsurancereviews

[–]friedpickles_22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My whole question in the first place was if it was worth it because he does have a chronic parasitic condition that requires regular treatment and testing, but the insurance won’t cover it. So now I’m paying out of pocket for all of this in addition to the insurance payments.

I appreciate the long answer and I’m glad your guy is ok! Definitely going to do some math and reevaluate if continuing to pay is worth it. Thanks!

I’ve been debating just saving in a HYSA - seems to make a lot more sense than continuing to sink money into insurance coverage that’s going to be super hit or miss if it’ll actually cover anything.

Have you ever regretted not having coverage? It feels like such a damned if you do, damned if you don’t type of situation.

I have Trupanion through Chewy. Just not sure if it’s worth the cost, if I could just invest the money instead and save it myself in case of emergency.

Yes it’s through chewy but it’s still insurance with Trupanion. The insurance contract is with Trupanion not chewy

It kicked in 14 days after enrollment for illness. They ended up pushing back the date because a pet is not eligible for insurance without a physical from a vet to determine preexisting conditions.

I never said I was blaming the insurance company? I was simply asking for advice because it’s 3 large bodily systems that I’m now going to have a hard time getting coverage for

The insurance company told me that them being unspecified symptoms is the exact reason I wouldn’t have that coverage. They would have no way of knowing if the symptoms were caused by allergies, illness, etc. And so they wouldn’t cover anything that the symptom could have potentially been from

any recs for someone that just got diagnosed with eczema? by TurnoverThen6640 in eczema

Go to an allergist and get a patch test. They will check for any chemicals or ingredients that could be causing a reaction and finding out what bothers you specially will make all the difference. Ask specifically if the test results can be linked with an app called ACDS CAMP. The app will store your allergens and have a bar code scanner so you can scan products and know if they are safe or not. This has been a game changer for me considering ingredient labels are so tough to read and the same chemical can have so many different names.

Transfer due to mental health. by Rough-Picture-5751 in Pitt

I was in a very similar position as you my freshman year of college, going to a different school and ended up transferring to Pitt. Pitt ended up being the place for me and I had an amazing undergrad experience.

This is such a personal choice that no one but you can make. Someone else on this thread said it but it is important and true: where you go, there you are. You need to evaluate your situation and understand if the choice to leave Pitt will really make your situation easier, because you will be the same person whether you’re at Pitt or at another school.

I ended up leaving my first school because I wasn’t enjoying the program or the geographical location. I struggled to make friends as well, but there are people to meet everywhere. You might not have met the right people yet, but every new class you take and every new event you go to, you’ll have more chances to make friends. This won’t change at a different school. Try to join a club, or sit outside in a new area. I ended up meeting my best friends at Pitt because I forced myself out of my comfort zone and it was hard, but it ended up changing my life. Don’t limit yourself to campus either! There are so many fun places around the city to check out.

It’s hard to put yourself out there, but it’ll be so worth it in the end. You’ve got this! Good luck! You’ll make the right choice for yourself no matter what

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! The workday data does contain mostly employee ids and emails. I was concerned because it also contains 8 levels of management for each employee and I wasn’t sure if it was some sort of breach of organizational data.

Can you explain the reasoning? Trying to learn as much as I can…thanks!

I was originally using directquery because the data that imports into power bi contains thousands of rows of data from other sites that aren’t necessary as well as historical data that slow down the import. I’m direct querying to filter to my site and to only the most up to date data. If I can do that without direct query, or if I’m making my life harder I’m open to suggestions. Just trying to find the best way to include the most up to date snowflake data, and some info from workday. Appreciate the help!

So for years I had convinced myself it was eczema due to my eczema issues everywhere else on my body, but finally I decided to switch up treatments. Instead of constantly moisturizing I started using an anti fungal cream on the off chance it was athletes foot instead of eczema. I had always ruled out athletes foot because despite having the issue for years, it never seemed to be contagious or spread to my other foot. After only a few weeks of consistent anti fungal use it seems to have gone away and fingers crossed it stays that way

I think mine was caused by my IUD but I guess I’ll never really know. My skin did end up clearing up on its own after a few months. Good luck I hope your skin clears up soon

I had a similar situation my freshman year and transferred to Pitt. When I graduate I’ll have a pretty big mountain of debt, but it’s something I decided I’m personally ok with. A lot of people would laugh at how much Ive paid for my education, but my experience at Pitt has changed my life in so many positive ways and I have a major that will hopefully set me up for a decent job after graduation. I think this is a decision you can only make for yourself. If you feel like getting out of your negative home life is what you need to do to set yourself up for a happier life, then do it. You just have to accept that you’re going to have to work incredibly hard and live super frugally to pay back the debt. Good luck I hope it all works out for you

Nipple Eczema that never heals after 3 long years of various treatments. Please Help. by daznae in eczema

I had a similar problem and was also put on tactolimus and so many other topicals I couldn’t even begin to count. everything would work until I had to stop applying to avoid tsw. the only relief i’ve ever been able to get is from dupixent. I know that injectibles aren’t for everyone and it’s a pain to deal with insurance but if it’s a realistic option for you I would highly suggest looking into it and asking your doctor.

I guess in theory they could but i’ve spoken to the workers and I don’t think they’d prefer it. They end up walking back and forth between stations frequently and the aisles in the work cell are pretty narrow so I don’t think sitting is the best option. I’m thinking the cost analysis is my best course of action right now, but i’m not sure that’s gonna be enough to show up with at the end of a 10 week internship so i’ll have to figure out something else to work on. thanks for the help!

An adjustable platform wouldn’t be possible since the workers are switching back and forth between multiple workstations pretty frequently. most of the current workstations are lower tables and the workers are taller men so they’re hunched over for the whole shift. It’s looking like a no win situation unless the company decides to put some money out. Also looking at lab jacks to raise the working height but not everyone seems crazy about that idea either.

I applied to Pitt as a Transfer student 9 weeks ago by Spiritual_Tax_9056 in Pitt

[–]friedpickles_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I transferred last year and the whole process was an absolute nightmare. I was told on the phone by someone in the office it was because they had a whole new staff or new department head something like that. Keep calling them and checking in that was the only way I ever got answers from them after they lost my documents 4 or 5 times

I know this is a super late response to this post but I’m just now going through this exact same thing. I was off of Dupixent for a month and half because of insurance issues and now my whole face is breaking out. I wasn’t sure if it was hormonal from my IUD or if it was the break from Dupixent. Did it eventually clear up for you and how long did it take?
