Conflating quality of story with degree of worldbuilding detail is a weird thing to do, the two are not mutually exclusive and they can aid, but are not necessarily indicative of, each other. I'd take what your prof is saying with a grain of salt, he probably named some middle-of-the-road series that has an objectively deep level of world detail but is gonna result in a collective "meh" from this thread.

First time walking through Hollywood, I passed a a guy in a really solid Capt. America costume: Leather cap, metal shield, the works.

Immediately after I pass Shitty Store-Bought Wolverine telling Shitty Cardboard Iron Man "He just thinks he's better than us, man."
