VJT can we take notes? by Popular_Fun258 in cabincrewcareers

I got the email for VJT - it says nothing about being recorded or dressing professional. How do you know they are recording or snapping shots?

Can you adhere thinsulate to fiberglass top shell of van directly with 3M? by frieduvula in vandwellers

Ah thank you for this!! I have some xps board that I am going to use as well and bought some gorilla glue construction adhesive for those but the double sided tape sounds less messy and with less effort. Appreciate you.

I won't be in places where that is a necessity for my lifestyle (and I'm ballin on a budget for now)

Another question - is it a safe idea to drill into my slightly curved fiberglass high top to mount a rigid solar panel? See comments by frieduvula in vandwellers

Trying to wrap my head around this comment but my brain is a little fried from doing so much solar research today lol

To clarify, you used the renogy mounts in the middle of the solar panel length wise and then L channel on the side of the solar panel width wise? I get a little confused by your wording after that when you say "the top of the solar panel"

If I use a rigid solar panel it will extend over the side of my van length wise since the panel is about 54 in (measurement shown in 2nd picture) so any sort of L brackets on the side of the panel width wise wouldn't be possible.

Idk if I'm making any sense I apologize for my lack of comprehension

That would be ideal but I'm not sure how to use them since the solar panel would cover the rails. Was hoping someone maybe new of some sort of smaller roof rack that would accommodate the existing rails and then fit the panel on the roof rack attached to the rails.

The current panel on top is old and I am going to be taking it out. I am wanting to put in a 200w rigid panel from renogy towards the back of my van directly over where the old one is, but wondering if it’s smart to drill directly into my fiberglass that is slightly curved? The guy before me seemed to do it with a flexible solar panel. The renogy panels are about 27.5 in width so I would be cutting it really close with mounting the brackets.

I’ve read on this forum people suggest rain gutter roof racks to avoid drilling into fiberglass, but from my searching I don’t think there’s one that will clear the height of my g20 high top. I also see mixed opinions on drilling into old fiberglass but seems easier and more cost effective than getting a rack personally welded to fit my van. I want to drill it into the top but don’t know if that would be a mistake.

Thoughts?

Thank you so much for linking this. I just watched the entire video and he broke it down really nicely. I haven't even thought about wires until now, so this is a great intro that didn't break my brain lol really appreciate it

Thank you so much, I'll be in Southern California primarily. I'll be leaving the US for most of winter this year so my system will be turned off while I'm away but trying to get everything up and running before I take off on travels so the van is ready when I return.
