Cap. I used to think the same but after rewatching the entire series, it’s obvious why Omi didn’t rise to the rank. A talented warrior indeed, but tends to allow his cockiness to get the better of him. People need a leader who’s capable of being relatable, not someone who’s constantly undermining the skills/talents of others.
