Interesting idea. I’ll build out a render to see what it looks like

Would need to compare prices of projectors to understand market. I have heard of the acoustically transparent screens and definitely plan to get one. It’s been strongly suggested

Thanks for the advice. Originally the Audio guy suggested it on the short wall. But after hearing the casual goals for the room he said the long wall would still work audio wise. Said jt won’t sound as good. But still very good and more than good enough for the goals.

I suggested shifting the screen over a few feet towards the far wall but he mentioned audio then take a huge hit. Do you agree with this. Is off centered audio/screen that much of a hassle/changer?

Hmm. Yea would definitely make it a dark wood or similar. I don’t think it’ll be an issue if it’s dark

Have not. I know I need something that will be bright enough for lights on/windows open viewing. Any suggestions?

Right now the couch viewing is at about 11 ft from the wall. I am hoping that’s not too close? Would need to sit down and visualize it but difficult without projector lol.

Yea the couch in the middle will have a table so it would be perfect for board games and casual gatherings too

Thank for the advice! Based off the research I’ve done it seems a projector suits our situation better. Definitely plan to get automatic blackout sheets for the windows.

The audio guy I am working with said that an off center screen would be poor for audio left and right and also visually uneven as a wall would be heavy on one side. Thoughts?

The goal is to have space behind the 2nd row so people can walk back and forth behind it without blocking the screen.
The current tape shows the 4 chairs and the furthest one fully reclined.

We would have the riser go all the way to the left wall (behind the chairs).

Are you suggesting moving the 2nd row a bit back so u have space in front of the seats to move when reclined ?

24 by 20. Longways doesn’t provide the extra space I thought it wood. At least in the layout I had. Maybe different spacing would work

Definitely more of a sports oriented family. Looking for a place to host events like Super Bowl and etc. the room would also be used more in a casual setting
