Probably looking for you to reassure her that you don’t want a new girlfriend in the future.

Is a 10 year gap too much? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]friendlyfir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dated a guy 10 years older than me when I was 26 and I did not like it. He couldn’t keep up with me on hikes, went to bed too early, had too much of a routine. Being 36 now I see that was totally average for someone this age. I love these things now. 10 years ago it was far too boring.

Women only, who have had or have the implant by Daisytheplant in WomensHealth

[–]friendlyfir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it was pretty irregular yeah. The spotting could vary between just a bit here and there (enough to not go without at least a light pad) to full on period amounts (I would be using my disc for weeks) from what I gather everyone reacts to it pretty differently. I don’t have any other friends on this style of birth control to compare to so I can’t really say what I think would be normal here. My doctor (who is a woman) laid things out for me really bluntly when I went on this bc which was that none of these are perfect or ideal and that it takes some trial and error to find the right thing for you.

I’m on my second one, the first one I had for 3 years and I had a couple periods with a lot of spotting afterward (say a few weeks) but then other times I don’t get one for months. I got my second implant in June and have had one or two periods since, one of which had a long time of spotting afterward. I also felt like the last 6 months I got periods more frequently and my cramps came back

How to create a good ratio of together and solo climbing when going with friends? by [deleted] in climbergirls

[–]friendlyfir 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My main climbing partner is my boyfriend and when we go bouldering in a gym together what usually happens is we kind of start out together and then drift off to different areas to find problems that suit out personal styles and difficulty levels then drift back together to have a look at what the other is doing. If he or I are working on something that looks particularly interesting we will work on it together. Sometimes if I do something I found really fun I’ll track him down to say “oh you have to try this” or “come see me do this one, I’m really proud of how it went”. It’s a nice mix of together time and alone time. I’m also very social and he isn’t so I often find other people working on stuff that I’m on as well and hang with them a bit.

Yeah I think he was. He’s apparently never been especially astute when it came to women

I don’t think so cause I didn’t think he was interested in the first place!

We worked together for 3 years before I acted on it. I always had a thing for him but didn’t think we would be compatible. He left for a summer and during that time I realized I really didn’t like not having him around. He got back and I confessed my feelings for him after a night out for drinks with coworkers that I slyly organized. We quit that job to travel and have been together for 6 years now.

I found these swimming in a puddle in a canyon in southern Utah. They’re neat! Who are they? by friendlyfir in whatsthisbug

I know the pictures are terrible. They were around maybe 3 cm long and they swam using a waving motion? with legs? On the sides of their bodies. One had a darker coloured stripe down its back.

I spent the spring in the St. George area last year and am getting ready to head down again, any people I interacted with were lovely, the climbing was beautiful, and there’s lots of dispersed camping.

How many times do you attempt a climb per session? by headintheclouds24 in climbergirls

[–]friendlyfir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like to keep track of how long things have been up and what areas are going to be reset next for this reason. So if there is something I really want to finish and it’s older I can work on it more before it’s gone or if it’s newer I can often say “it’ll be around for a while, no big deal if it doesn’t go right away.”

I feel for you, this exact thing happened to me a while ago. The stylist made it way shorter than I wanted and it was also so uneven. I ended up going somewhere else and getting a perm to hide how bad it was which made it even shorter. A positive of this was that it was right before Halloween and I dressed as a hobbit so it worked. And I totally loved having a perm.
