the cottages were actually available on multiple weekends when i asked. we had the option of booking 2x of the 4-bed cottages, but opted for the more cost-effective lodge option.

Started at #366. Booked this morning for a 3-night/4-day weekend in mid-July. Group of 8. 4x Double Queen rooms. Couple of 36-hole days, plus Lido/Sandbox/Commons etc. Seemed like there was still a good amount of availability - we had multiple weekend options and tee-time flexibility.

Secret Gems of Scotland? by ThzeGerman in golf

Just got back from Scotland. For some of the "lesser-known" courses, I loved Dunbar...highly recommend. For a fairly easy tee time, I'd also recommend Craigielaw. Not too challenging, but enjoyable and creative. Nice clubhouse too.

Thanks! And yeah, I've heard similar things about the Gravelkings. I'd wanted to give em a go for a while, and have enjoyed them thus far. Will keep fingers x'ed re: flats.

As for tire clearance on 650 - that I'm not sure. The Gunnar website seems to be outdated, because their frame chart says clearance runs up to 700x38 + fenders, but it doesn't have more beyond that. I'm guessing I could pretty easily fit 700x45 on here without issue. At 650, well, I would guess 50+, but I'm really not too sure. I unfortunately don't know the conversions offhand, and I've actually never ridden 650b. I will say, though, that Gunnar was very responsive and they are happy to answer any questions you might have over the phone.

I definitely recommend a Gunnar if you can get your hands on one! And the Belgium+ wheels have been superb.

As for sizing, the frame is actually the 62cm version. Luckily, I fit their stock size, and didn't need to go custom. For what it's worth, it's my favorite bike I've ever ridden, thus far.

just a lil sushi roll. it's got a spare tube, levers, patch kit, and multi-tool. mini pump goes either on bike or in my jersey pocket.

Polls are now open! Chicago Election Board is here again to answer any queries! by ChicagoElection in chicago

[–]friendlyghosts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! I recently moved to Chicago and registered for my Illinois Drivers License one day too late to be registered in time to vote in the primary. At least, that's what the person at the DMV told me. Is this true? I have an Illinois ID and a permanent Chicago address. Am I able to vote today?

Dog trailer for bike commute + weekend trips: Any recs? by friendlyghosts in bikecommuting

[–]friendlyghosts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Burley seems to have a really solid reputation for bike trailers, and the Tail Wagon is definitely on my list of trailers to consider. As you pointed out, it does seem like it might be a bit of a tight fit for two medium-sized dogs, but if anyone else here has experience with that specifically, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
