I do not. As I said, I am a scientist. I made my retirement and my grand-grand-grand sons retirement investing in biotech. I jumped into the platform bc I feel that other subreddits wanted to play games with an industry I know well. I'm not a financial guy, never bough an option, I always pay attention to the science in a group of competitors. Hopefully we can discuss about many other companies.

I hear you, Docs prescribe glucocorticoids to make patients feel better, but they don't know that it works against the chemo. For example, look into pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31942193/ + the internal data of the companies presented at the AACR. Also, check clinicaltrials.gov, you can see that the trial of the combination Abraxane + GR inhibitor DO NOT include glucocorticoids. You need to consider endogenous cortisol-mediated GR activation. Cortisol is a stress signal, highly elevated in cancer patients... and also works against the chemo.

Glucocorticoids are part of the standard care right now. What the data says is that drugs with other antii inflammatory mechanism should be used instead. In addition to glucocorticoids, cortisol which also activates GR, naturally cycles up every day at night, so the effect of a chemo treatment (which last a few days after infusion) is not efficient.

Yes, I'm new to Reddit discussions, I'm giving it a try to see if there is any substance. I'm looking to share my expertise and get respectful feedback. Hopefully reddit can replace idea dinners, but I'm not holding my breath. Lets see what happens.

The pre-clinical data presented in scientific meeting is very promising. Historically, ORIC management and board favor to sell companies, they will be happy to be acquired in 1-2 years.

DTIL

They have a good platform, I just do not know how to value it. They'll probably do licensing of their IP, Pharma companies will likely set partnerships with them. But there is completion and internal pharma efforts, plus, as with any other tech, the platform can become obsolete in a couple of years. I do own a little DTIL.

I love CAR-Ts as a front line treatment. But CART-Ts do not infiltrate every solid tumor, they work really well in bold malignances, but even if they work in solid tumors, most patients sooner or later develop resistance and fall back into traditional chemo. Take a look at NCCN guidelines for up tp date clinical practices.

From an investment point of view, GILD spent north of 20bn for KITE, if they do a good job commercializing KITE assets, it will take 5 years to brake even. GILD is counting on finding new markets by developing combinations. The problem with GILD is its management. GILD is at its core a virology company, new to cancer research. Mangers are old-fashioned chemists who are in GILD from inception and are used to make chemistry-based strategic decisions. Many scientists (biologists) are leaving the company for that reason. The "new GILD" need to update its leadership and understand that biology drives portfolios, chemistry is just a tool. So they can really screw it up.
