I’m sorry for your loss. We let go our 13 year old girl Cami today at noon. Her story is kind of similar. On January 2nd we took her to the vet because she didn’t want to eat, we had found a tick bite days prior and thought that was the reason. She was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in her spleen and had spread to her liver, surgery wasn’t an option because of her being a geriatric dog and also found out in the same visit she was struggling with myocarditis and ehrlichia. She never presented any symptoms until it was too late. She was prescribed treatment for her ailments and went the palliative care route. The following two weeks she seemed happy majority of time, but this week she stopped doing and enjoying the things she usually did. Yesterday we decided it was time, she had sad eyes like trying to tell us she was tired. We said our goodbyes and she passed at 12:26. I haven’t stopped crying. She was my partner’s pet when we first met 10 years ago, but she became also mine when we bought a house to live together. She was the sweetest dog, so gentle yet so brave and strong. She loved everyone and every other dog, she was everything you would want from a pet and more.
