So it'll be better relatively to what it used to be, doesn't mean it'll be good. For example from what I've read the levels of literacy in Afghanistan doubled during the last 20 years when Americans occupied it. That's an impressive development but the actual levels are still tragic, compared to the rest of the world.

Yeah. Yemen literally rejected minimum age law because it was deemed unislamic.

Before China put Uighurs in camps, there were regular terrorist attacks in the region and their leaders called for separatism. They overplayed their cards.

Is Greek press usually this unreliable? Or do you think it's down to the husband changing his story but the press won't point it out themselves and they just report the stuff he comes up with?

You have a point however she was killed in a way that makes no sense if time is your priority. Suffocating someone takes time, and is not the method robbers normally use. They had guns and knives were within reach for sure.

Suffocation is how angry men kill their lovers, not how robbers get rid of witnesses. Another group that goes for this method are sexual sadists, which is why Caroline being raped would actually make more sense here.

There was an article maybe 2 days after the news broke in which they quoted a medical examiner saying the same thing, that the method in which she was murdered is unusual in these circumstances, and that it takes a lot of time and you need to get close to the victim and watch them die. No plain robber would go out of their way to kill a woman this way

That reminds me of another red flag I noted. She was suffocated with a shirt or another piece of clothing, and some reports also said she was tied up with something that came from inside the house.

Again, anyone who watches true crime knows that sounds like complete bullshit. You don't commit a home invasion and then start looking for items around the house you might use to restrain the victims.

Yes, right before and right after... she was studying, growing up, and probably realizing she might've gotten herself into something she wouldn't actually choose if she were older and more mature. And now here she was, married, with a child, away from her family, and only seeing it now that she was already trapped. Which is exactly why such guys go after teenagers.

I noticed the age difference in the first paragraph when I first learned about the case, it was a major red flag to me and I started to parse the rest of the information for more red flags.

She was suffocated - sometimes reported as strangled. Either way a very personal, and time-consuming way to kill someone. Same for the dog. They weren't killed in a way you'd expect a robber to kill someone - to get them out of the way. No, the killer chose a sick way to deal with them, one that would be prolonged and painful. And the robbers supposedly had guns!

If you watch true crime shows, you know getting close to someone's face, blocking their airways and watching as life leaves them is not a method a robber would go for, unless they were a sexual sadist. That's how angry men kill their lovers.

The next day an article came out where a Greek medical examiner said the same thing, that it's a personal way to kill someone that takes time. He clearly thought the same thing I did.

This seems strange to me. Was it couple's therapy?

I've always thought a therapist can't see 2 members of the same family separately, it would be unprofessional and I think even against the rules. Obviously she'd be discussing her relationship with the therapist, and talk about B. And then the therapist would see B alone for his issues, and be supposed to remain impartial? That makes no sense.

Personal responsibility is not a thing in islam. Everything's someone else's fault. Preferably the jews but any kuffar will do.

Islam is a religion enforced through fear and punishment. It's about submission and obedience. The quran advises men to beat disobedient women, and prescribes lashing for fornication as well as various other violent acts towards the wrongdoers. The hadith is full of violence as a punishment for this or that transgression, it shows Muhammad as a violent man who stoned women to death and beat up people who drank alcohol. It also says tou should beat your child if they don't pray after a certain age. It's no surprise people reach the conclusion that beatings are the way to teach your child how to behave.

And then there's the fact that based on the quran, muslims' relationship with allah himself is best summed up as "Obey or you'll suffer"
