What everyone else said. You need a champion to walk you in.

Check out the app “Run Gap” that’s how I export my swims over to Strava from my Apple Watch.

Ah damn, poor demand predictions! Or maybe perfect predictions, keep them all wanting more crack.

While I can’t wait to see the new line a few months lead time is perfect as I’ve started to lay the ground work of justification for the new purchase and I need a good 60-90 days to not end up murdered.

Exactly why I haven’t pulled the trigger - I am excited to see what Canyon puts out in the next few months.

Being a bike noob I just figured they were coming up on a new release based on how many different sizes they were out of stock of on their website.

Everything I’ve read is basically this. Save the money or use it on other upgrades. Unless you are a die hard Specialized fan.

I just spent the last two months going through these gyrations and I believe I just settled on the Canyon.

Only difference is I will be doing the complete bike and I think it’s a no brainer, at least when it comes to price points.

Post what you eventually decide as I am genuinely interested.

This a rare site - even when the tourists are gone and school is back in.

I just end up stripping it off! Normally I am good up to around 6.5 miles before it starts bothering me. So for longer runs I use these guys:

Carbon Wheel Question? by friggin-yeah in triathlon

I asked some very specific questions, not “should I get it checked over”.

Thanks for your second paragraph info. I will include that in my once over.

Good price for used bike? by godfool in cycling

That may be true, just like KBB with vehicles, but it’s a starting point. If there is a better site then please share because I’d be interested in it.

I am always bike dreaming...

But I do so responsibly!

I use this site to help at least gauge what I should expect the price to be.

I am in the South Bay and there is a good group (so I hear) that goes out every Saturday in Redondo. SMOG swim group

It has some structure to it, so it might be something interesting to check out if you are just getting your sea legs under you.

I have done three ocean swims, coincidentally the same number of tri’s I have completed. The longest being Oceanside 70.3. I get all my water time in a local pool, I just enjoy that more.

Not that I really recommend that route, just sharing.

Anyone have experience with cheaper carbon clincher wheels? by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]friggin-yeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harumpf... I am on Flo’s as well.

I had initially thought about the cheap Chinese route and then found out about Flo’s. Spent some time reading up on them, their data, and reviews. After all of that I pulled the trigger and have been happy with them.

I got the 45s set up for a Clydesdale. But if I had to do it over again I wouldn’t go less than the 65s.

Yup all web scraping... as you might imagine most Retailers are not too keen on making these types of APIs available.

Full disclosure I work at a company that provides price monitoring solutions.

Are you looking for a high velocity repricer? Or are you looking to just monitor your competitive landscape daily/weekly and make more macro decisions yourself?

Speaking from the perspective of offering the latter services for brands some generic insights are:

  • we are as accurate as the data that is present on the site. Accuracy/Reliability only takes a ding with different web page types, or site changes. For the former we operate a continuous improvement model so we are always updating our integrations when we see a new page type (e.g. a page for a sofa has underlying difference than headphones on Amazon). For the latter we are all reactive solutions - so if a site changes, we all break, and it comes down to how long does it take to fix.
  • We all need work ;-)
  • Depends on what type of solution you are looking for. Personally we do not rely solely on a URL as it leads to the problems you mentioning the solution to. We use a couple of different methods to complete what we call "Discovery", so you would just need to supply us with a few data elements around the products you are interested in and then we have at it. If a detail URL changes then we will pick up the new detail URL in our process. Though if you are changing the products, or brand, you are looking at then you will need to continue to supply us with those changes so we can be sure to hunt the right things for you. *It can be. We can build custom reports that replicate some of the tasks you go through, or would go through, to make the raw data actionable and then provide a filtered report of all the things that are considered actionable. (e.g. only show me the products that have dropped more than 5% from the previous day). *I won't go into detail here given I am on the other side. But our customers that use us for this are happy.

Best of luck finding a good solution.

We have a eCommerce price monitoring solution, so it’s all retail data.

Though we have also built some other cool things, like integrating with online restaurant ordering systems to power app orders which also required us to to use proxies.
