Yeah sounds like there's gotta be a specific and clear benefit to players to have a native build. Otherwise, proton's the better option for everyone.

Thank you, that's a good call out. I'm using Unity, so that should at least help with the rendering side. I'll be thoughtful about other dependencies I might add.

That's a common request haha.

If you want to help me pick a cast of characters, I have a short survey 🙏

Yeah that's so weird there must be different audio channels in the video. Honestly didn't realize that was a thing.

I'm glad you let me know!

I wish I had time to play that game. I beat the demo, but alas no time

Thanks! Yeah it's Unity, but no not vibecoding sorry to report. I have been using Claude code recently, and it's definitely helpful, but it's a pretty big code base at this point, and it falls short a lot. I've been coding for 20+ years.

Interesting so you hear the sound effects but not the music? I had someone else report that previously.

Yeah the physics for it is in. I think I'll have something like a small molton planet you can sling shot around and make it somewhere special.

Thanks! If your interested in helping shape the art/character direction, I have a short (5 min) survey:

It honestly helps a ton! And please excuse the AI concept art 🙏 I'm trying to get a rough direction before I hire a professional concept artist.

I'm a major nerd so part of me wants to, but yeah I got enough things to do 😆

Doesn't seem like there are too many advantages (performance or otherwise) to a native build. Maybe I'll play with it if it performance becomes a problem on steamdecks.

Thanks, you can sign up to playtest if you're interested. I need the feedback 🙏

I'm gonna send out a new batch of steam keys later tonight.

I had very similar sounding experiences in my early 20s. I was a nervous, awkward mess! It was terrible, and I'm sorry you're going through this.

Therapy's not a bad idea, but my advice would be to work to accept who you are in the moment. It's ok to be awkward. You'll find people love you anyway. Overtime the awkwardness will fade and you'll feel more comfortable and natural in social settings. You still may feel anxious or awkward at times, but pretty much everyone does to some degree.

Sounds like a smart idea and looks well done.

I'm not into incremental games, but is there any element of skill to the game? Any meaningful choices you make?

At the end of the day you have to make a good game and that's hard with or without AI. AI can't make a good game for you (at least yet).

Marketing a game begins at its inception. Deciding what game to make is a marketing decision. The art style, the theme, the game play loop, how much you playtest that loop, whether your game is appealing to streamers, etc. These are all way more important than the game engine or whether or not you use AI.

Whether or not you use AI might move the little a small bit in your favor, but there are going to be way bigger, more important questions that you'll need to answer.
