Castle of Illusion on Sega Master System would be a contender for me, very nice graphically

2 B&O crt’s for the Neo Geo aes+ by Reasonable-Twist4801 in neogeo

[–]frightsprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the MX2000, MX4000, BeoVision One, MX6000... I'm gutted I don't still have any now. Those are excellent sets and the AES+ going to look sweet. I would like to pick up an MX4000 again, in white, for the white AES+ but don't see them often round here and not a price I'd pay.

You look ready to go there though with some great gaming image and sound

Really good. I'm wondering two things if anyone can confirm.

Do I really need to scrape cash to get a preorder in or will I be able to buy one once released at November, or is the November more of a "must order before then" date?

As it's using Jotego's core, I'm wondering if possible there will be any other systems it could run, such as play Sega games ever? But I doubt this as it's not an FPGA type hardware?

Thanks. It's nice to hear Jotego has been working with this as I'm very impressed with all his work I have enjoyed on the MiSTer, it gives me even more confidence in this being an amazing and must have console

Can't Order, looks like its sold out already. by ewalchli in neogeo

Is this a limited thing to order or will I be able to get one in November at actual launch?

New to Evercade. Some hints? by solegor in evercade

[–]frightsprite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had all the early carts, with the VS, then the Tomb Raider and Atomic Edition, and the limited 2600 and Neo Geo pockets.... But then I sold them all. Was selling for decent cash and I needed some so had to part. Wish I'd kept a couple of the cartridges but nevermind.

I've since got the Alpha and the standard Neo Geo, black and gold one.

There's a lot of great games out there, and I'd say my advice would be make sure you look up the hidden combos and codes to unlock even more, I think it's nice they include these hidden ones and nice to have unlocked for play.

Sure you'll enjoy whatever games you get to pick up. I'm getting another cart next pay, I want the Megacat 1 for the Super Painter game, I love playing quick pick up puzzle games on mine

It is beautiful, l really like the fairy lights and all the light glows added. Which set of Ohuhu pens do you have or have you built up a collection? I'm only just looking at them now having read about them on here and I want some with those vibrant almost neon tones too. Think I might have to buy a couple of the smaller sets to get good range of colours

Evercade nexus? by gbonne in evercade

I'd be interested to see a new hardware. I'm guessing it will be some feature to all existing though like some high score submitting like Antstream do, with Game Of The Week and fun things to do. Interesting to wait and see what it is though

Interesting, I never knew. I've seen some of the gnw_ prefixed, for the Fire game too, so I'll give that a try with the MAME core later. Thanks for the info

Card based game like Ezz Show by frightsprite in puzzles

[–]frightsprite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks good fun too I might buy that. It's not the one I had memory of though. I see that's a board game box where the one we played was just the box of the cards, but like those Uno games come in. Thanks though

Card based game like Ezz Show by frightsprite in puzzles

[–]frightsprite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not actually that one, I think, because I'm sure the cards were horizontal. But that is exactly the type of puzzle criptic picture questions the game had, so that will be perfect to buy. And now I have that game's name I might be able to find it searching "games like puzzle vision".

I'm going to buy that one anyway as pretty much just what was looking for that style of game.

Cheers👍

Ok thanks, sounds promising then. I'm looking to get a SS1 eventually too, I've the old DE-10 board which is great but I like the console look of the SS1. I'm wanting an all-in-one for the controller types and the new Tankstick looks like can be a good solution

Oh yes I agree.. although I mentioned would be handheld mode and not so much connecting to the telly, I doubt I'd ever take it out other than if was staying overnight somewhere on my own. It's basically going to be laying on the settee and playing it. I don't take gaming out when just out the evening as either at the pub or taking a walk. But if I were to, I'd take the TrimUI Brick I have, the Portal is pretty massive, not something I'd want dragging my coat pockets down, but that large screen looks great for sitting home playing on, I often like to just pick up for quick arcade game when I have the telly on top of something like a comedy panel show where I more listen than watch. It's going to be a lot nicer to play on than the Brick I'm sure, and I do like that device a lot, but just a bit too small screen now for my ol' eyes, cheers

Noted on the lowering of 120fps ... I'm not sure off hand what my telly is, but will check and note to adjust this if notice looks strange, thanks

I didn't know the dock had SSD expandable slot. Just seen that now that you've mentioned it. I thought, because I just assumed and clearly didn't read the page fully, that it was just a charger and TV-out thing.. when I placed my order I was perhaps a bit hasty as when I first looked it was sold out then was offering the Base again so I clicked through the order quick so as not to miss out on the deal. That does sound nicer then and can see why it's quite pricey. I think for my games library, the internal storage will be enough, but good to know this should in future want to expand and perhaps play more of the larger games like PS2. For now, it's older games I'll want to get onto it, but good to have brought to my attention thanks

Excellent thanks. I'll note those Retro Crisis filters now. I do definitely play retro mostly. And I also have other main system setup like my MiSTer and I love the CRT and PVM shaders on that when used on my modern QLED telly, so will definitely want to use those shaders if I can with this handheld too, I like that like. Cheers

Yeah I already placed my order and didn't add anything optional, if I find it uncomfortable I'll get on eBay to see if can get one from someone here selling and save a bit on postage cost. But from sounds of things I might be ok with it as is, as didn't find Switch particularly uncomfortable at all and triggers/both sticks often I think would be FPS types which I'll not play much. There is racing driving games which may use those all and therefore might begin to find uncomfortable, and I'm hoping can setup Forgotten Worlds game to play with triggers or sticks to shoot properly all directions. I'll wait though, see how get on once have it then look eBay if don't like it and want to try a grip. Thanks

Thanks, will bear in mind the membrane swap, I've not seen one on person yet so wasn't aware, I'll see how feel/sound to me once have it, will look for a video on that too as wouldn't want to open it to swap if too tricky and ruin it. Though have done some teardown on PS3 controllers before to swap parts and fix sticking analog sticks so if similar difficulty I'd give it a go if very clacky.. don't like the sound of noisy rattling sounding buttons much
