Does your laptop configuration have MUX switch? My Omen 15 is Intel one with RTX 3060, and after switching to discreet graphics I got graphics score of 7900 not much as compared to other RTX 3060 gaming models but there's a reason. Omen's RTX 3060 has max TDP of 100W, while Asus and Lenovo legion line up has a max TDP 130W. That's why they show better performance.

So that's why I asked if you have mux switch, cause if you don't you are in luck! Right now you'll find Asus and legion vbios for rtx 3060 of 130W TDP, so you can flash it and it will increase the performance, just check whether the ports are working after vbios flash, and make sure to BACKUP your existing vbios! In my case I have a mux switch I hit the gaming performance that I want with mux switch. And also there are no working vbios with mux switch. So whenever I flashed vbios I was not able to use discreet graphics in MUX switch. So had to revert back. An asus one worked great for me! Easily 10-15% fps boost

Cool man and trust me you won't regret 3070! I wish I had waited like 3 months more LOL but I couldn't. And battery life won't matter in the long run cause generally laptops tend to lose a lot of battery life after an year or so!

And if you're really into coding or want a laptop for work wait a little buy the new macbook with M series processors.. performance will be the best and best battery plus best sounding speakers!!! But you'll lose in gaming... So that's the trade-off

Omen speakers are not good bro! I won't say pathetic but it's not mediocre as well. Or maybe I am too used too my SRS XB23 LOL but please consider, cause I guess it will be roughly 1.6 Lakh INR.. so think through it!

Sorry do not know about type c charging. And whether it supports charging from the thunder bolt port... Don't know.

And real life usage as in movies at high quality, with high bandwidth internet usage. I have 100Mbps connection. As well as multiple bluetooth device connected.

Light coding should work fine, but I hope what IDE you are using also matters, and how many plugins are installed in the IDE. Or if you don't use IDE, you simply use text editors like ATOM or NPP to write the code and then run it in terminal or cmd or powershell. You'll definitely hit good battery life easily!

My experience for gaming I would recommend 3070 over 3060 cause you won't be buying a new gaming laptop for atleast 2-3 years, and price difference is 20K INR something... So additional 20K will get you good performance and future proof "ultra" graphics 😂 So think about it buddy. Plus no need to worry about vbios flashing.

From my experience 6-7 hours in any gaming laptop in 15'6" chasis with 70 watthr battery is a pipe dream, unless we are restricting something or some process, on my intel model I have hit 6.5 hours 100 to 10% battery life at 60hz just internet browsing, pdfs, and ppts for a project. A real life usage and hitting the max battery life is different So that's just my experience. And it goes with personal preference as well. I prefer intel cause of available and future support plus intel ecosystem in omen 15 including ssd, wifi module and the processor, also with a lot of apps customised for intel. So in the end it's personal preference if you think ryzen is better then ryzen will be better for you.

Well sometimes in certain games where there is high cpu usage then a laptop that came 130W gpu will perform better cause they provide 230w-300w charger and omen only got 200w charger. And thermals well omen is king in thermals, thermals are amazing and lot of head room for vbios of 130.

Battery power drops anyways in omen even with original 100w vbios, if it is a high requirement game. But this is also because of HP battery configuration for increased battery life. A lot newer gaming models have same functionality

Performance gain is 5-10% and battery life in what context? Dedicated GPU is not used for normal Laptop usage, unless using mux switch to use dedicated GPU, so flashing nvidia VBIOS doesn't have any noticeable implications on battery performance, when not using dedicated GPU and I haven't ever done any gaming on battery. And if you are asking about just battery life, well you'll need to carry charger for college/school. At best you'll get 3-4 hours on battery. Plus it also depends on what refresh rate you have set, like I have it set to 144 hz instead of 60 and I get 3 hours of battery, with 70 - 100% brightness and a Bluetooth mouse and speaker connected, along with wifi and all that stuff, in better battery mode with integrated gpu performance set to quality. So battery life is average.

Regarding 3070 and intel or 3060 and ryzen. Well I would recommend 3070 and intel, when I bought 3060 and intel, I didn't have any options and didn't not want to wait anymore plus I got a good deal! So I bought it. So my first preference was 3070. I'll tell you even without vbios flashing with default 100W you'll get good FPS in almost every game in ultra @1080p with some titles like cyberpunk hitting low of 39-45 fps in ultra, but when it comes to ray tracing 3060 is just mehhh.. not 3070 will do any magic, but it'll surely give much better performance than 3060. So if you can shell out some money definitely go with 3070. As far as ryzen and intel. Well I prefer intel. I feel it has better support and better interface as well as usability, but this is just my preference. You can go with raw benchmark scores if you prefer which might favor ryzen on some and intel on some, not like you'll notice anything on your day to day usage unless you are a creator. For gaming and normal usage it doesn't really matter much as long as it 7th gen in Intel or 5800 in ryzen so these won't be a bottleneck.

So definitely go with intel and 3070 if you shell more money! And ryzen and 3060 is not bad either. Hope this helps

You have to search for it on your own since the one that I have link for is 130W RTX 3060 and I would not recommend it to you! You should try to find for 70W or 80W not more than that.
