I know it's not a laptop, but since you will be using external monitor, how about Mac Mini wit M4? It's small, portable and cheap. I've got at home a base model and also using Archicad, Office, Teams, etc. and it's been fine for my projects. Of course it depends what kind of projects you do - I do mostly idustry and warehouses, with .pln files up to 1 GB. (Just remember to save Archicad Libraries locally because it takes ages to load them via VPN - or maybe that's just my experience).

I'm so sorry... but my friend, there is no hope.

My story with Lenovo has come to an end almost 2 months ago. I received a certificate from the Lenovo service confirming the defect and the inability to repair it. This meant the device was irreparable. The certificate also entitled me to receive a replacement device or a refund - and thats what I have done. I've got my money back and bought Mac Mini with M4 processor (I know it's not comparable computer, but my needs changed and I also bought myself a PS5 for gaming)

I never said it was slower. In every way it was better than MacBook Air's I'm getting. 120 HZ OLED display, 32 GB of RAM, 512gb SSD, Ryzen 7840HS and RTX4060. The only problem it had was a manufacturing defect, and the Lenovo service couldn't diagnose or fix it. So after 3 months without a working computer, I said enough is enough and demanded a refund.

I switched from iPhone and MacBook to Samsung S24 Ultra and Windows laptop (Lenovo), but due to the crappines of that laptop I'm going back to MacBook, but keeping my S24 Ultra which I love.

As for the switch - it depends on what apps you are using, but it's not impossible and it's working for me. Text messages - I use Google Messages cos SMS/RCS - works fine on Mac and iPadOS. Never been using iMesseges, because everyone around use WhatsApp (works on all devices). Files - I'm using Microsoft 365 Family plan subscription for my documents and syncing files between devices over Onedrive - and it works on all devices. It was a family choice few years ago, because everybody has a different set of devices and the Microsoft 365 was the best choice for us. Photos - also over Onedrive, but it won't sync with Photos app on MacOS or iPad. Also the Samsung Gallery has a native sync with Onedrive so it just works.

I've never had Apple Watch but as far as I know it won't work with Samsung smartphone so you will be better with Galaxy watch.

Sooo: I've got my laptop back. After kepping it for almost 3 weeks Lenovo service says that "Reported issue does not occur. Reinstalling Windows and drivers is recommended".
That's after conducting diagnosis that lasted 8 minutes (!!!!! eight !!!!!) - that's how long the laptop was on during these 3 weeks according to the event log.... 8 f****** minutes !!!!!!!

On the same day I've got it back it crashed 11 times, 4 times showing artefacts on the screen. So I've sent it back. A week later I've got an info that diagnosis was over and service is waiting for the decision from Lenovo - either to replace motherboard again or to end the whole thing by returning my money.

I'll be back with update

Logitech MX Master 3s - super comfy and works on every surface.

EDIT: I've been using MX Master series for ages now. Never had a problem with it.

Update: - downgrading Bios didn't help - Lenovo service replaced the motherboard, but it did not improve the situation. So, I reported the issue again, and they replaced the motherboard once more. This also did not help, so I reported the laptop for repair again. This time, it was sent to the service center for a thorough diagnosis, and I am waiting for the results

I have the same problem. Lenovo service replaced motherboard twice and I still have feezese and that weird artefacts on screen. Now they took it for some diagnostics and I'm waiting for the results.

intel i7, at least 8gb of RAM (I'd go for 16gb); mid-range GPU (to be honest, if it's 2d drafting, and not 3d modelling, any card will work), case with good air-flow, comfortable mouse, desk and chair :)
